Now he was able to report her to the police and be an honest citizen but was unable to tell the truth about hitting her!! Strikes me he is not so honest after all.

Most companies wouldn't even cover her.
I am not disnumerate!! I got about 20 quotes and I entered the IN10 and 6 points and the lowest quote was £80.00 more than this year not £800.00!! I read that a lot of insurance companies are actually allowing 3 points on an application without a difference in quote. I may not have made a great job of bringing up my kids but I am intelligent!! Do a quote for yourself with points and report back if you like!!0 -
Hi Rose,
The point of me posting is to inform you that legally your daughter does not have a leg to stand-on. Uninsured drivers have no rights on HM Public Highway. Your daughter & her car should not have been on the road in the first place.
The best thing for the both of you is learn from the experience and move-on.

The policeman told us that the insurance is one thing and the accident is another. Ifg we choose to pursue the other driver it is a civil matter and not a legal one.0 -
Rose,
The Policeman only knows criminal law. I know Civil Law. You don't have a case.
To prove the point why don't you try a No win No Fee solicitor/claims company and see if they will take your case without you paying for a Credit Finance Agreement (CFA).
Let it go and move-on.0 -
I am surprised this thread is still banging on and the OP saying "I'm only trying to protect my daughter - she's had a tough time " - it's all bull's testicles!
I am starting to wonder whether or not the OP is a troll, who has come on here purely to distrupt the board. Her comments have been inflammatory and people have quite rightly got their hackles up which is hardly surprising when she claims that her DD is an uninsured driver.

Mrs Troll here!! She is not going to employ a no win/ no fee solicitor. We are just going to contact his insurers and him. I came in MSE for advice and not to disrupt the board. Everyone is entitled to ask. However if people even attack Martin there is no hope for anyone else0

You may have come here for advice but you have completely refused to accept anything that didn't fit with what you wanted to hear!
From the first post you have made every excuse under the sun as to why your daughter was not at fault, from not being good with money, to having had a tough couple of years, to trying to avoid another road user who was jutting out of a junction... But what you don't seem to want to accept is that she was driving without insurance through her own negligence. Instead you have attempted to blame the other driver completely, including suggesting that he was driving far too fast or that he was driving under the influence (!) and yet when assumptions have been made about your daughter or her part in all of this you have jumped down everyone's throats...If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0 -

Let it go and move-on.Thanks for all your comments. I went online and found a company willing to take her case ( on a no win no fee basis) ans they have taken all the details and are dealing with it on our behalf. The lady said that just to let the no insurance aspect and the police take its course. If it is reported then so be it but she said as she was only uninsured for a few days nothing may happen anyway. So we will see what happens now. When I spoke to the other driver I said we would not call again and now we will let this company deal with it. Aside from the insurance issue he did drive into her car and cause the damage and not the other way around.
They said they would not take the case earlier in the post, if they won't take it there isn't much hope really is there!! Considering no win no fee take a lot of cases on but obviously they can see this for what it is.
Personally i would also have phoned the police whether the crash was my fault or not! Uninsured is unisured = illegal no matter what OP thinks.0
