Chippy_Minton wrote:In post #1 you said the laptop says connected (wirelessly). Have you run the Home Install wizard on your laptop? If you have, check a few things:
Control Panel - Network Connections. Make sure wireless connection is shown as Enabled. Enable it if not.
From a command prompt (Start - Run - type in cmd and press return) type:
ipconfig /all
Post the results here, but don't include the physical address shown.
Try pinging the IP address of the default gateway shown in the output of that command (the gateway is your router) e.g.:
ping 192.168.1.254
(that's the default IP address for your router model). You should get 4 replies back.
Try pinging a website from the command prompt, e.g.:
ping https://www.moneysavingexpert.com
Again, you should get 4 replies back.
Using your PC, open the router's web configuration by clicking http://192.168.1.254 (that should work for your router) and make sure no wireless security has been enabled (Access control list is empty, SSID is broadcast, security is low).
the link does not work0 -
Page 11 of the SpeedTouch 576 User's Guide says:
To access the SpeedTouch™ via the web interface:
1 Open a web browser.
2 In the address bar type your SpeedTouch™’s IP address or DNS host name, by
default that is ‘http://speedtouch.lan’ or ‘192.168.1.254’.0 -

sorry if i click on links,it just goes onto a search pages with loads of things to choose from.0 -
Sorry, don't know how it happened but the underlying URL in the link I posted is wrong, and your browser is using something which goes to a search page when it can't find a page. You may want to check for Spyware etc.
Try this one: http://speedtouch.lan
If clicking on that address doesn't work try typing it in. If still no joy run the Home Install or Easy Setup wizard from the CD.0
