My mother said when DS was born, "you can't spoil a newborn", and I think she'd right. You can certainly spoil an older baby, but a 3 day old is still absolutely shocked by the changes birth brings, I reckon....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

Haven't read all the posts - (so sorry if I repeat some!)
Congrats! Am feeling uber-broody again...just don't tell MrW yet! ;-)
We found that putting a T-shirt of mine, or my husband's helped -
Or sleeping with babies teddy for a night before putting it in the moses basket with them helped (did feel quite silly at the time, sleeping with a teddybear!).
We also found that routine is so important too! We have a dog, so my daughter's bedtime routine included jammies, bottle, gro-bag, walk (well she was in the pram, we were walking the dog!), then bed. Plenty of fresh-air during the day helped too!
Hope this helps!0
