Hi Lunar - I tried Slimming World after I'd had my daughter and I never got into it. Its only now the kids are older (6 and 4) that I really feel I have time to actually plan and cook so dont feel disheartened.

I hated house hunting, it took us almost a year to find the house we wanted and we finally moved in 4 weeks before my 2nd was born. Some of the houses were proper dives but the estate agents seemed so enthusiastic about them. One house with a steep slope (unfenced) that lead to a deep stream at the bottom of the small garden was advertised as a family house suitable for small children - it was lethal!

Keep your spirits up - look how different things are now than when we first joined - you have achieved so much in the last 18 months and that is something to be very proud of x x

Hi penguin, you are doing so well, i wish i could be as motivated with the weightloss. I really dont know what my problem is, i know how to loose weight i just have no will power. I want to go to one of those hypnotherapists but how do you know if you can trust them?

Ask hypno06 for a recommendation - maybe she knows someone?

Are you still breastfeeding? If so I wouldn't worry too much about weightloss; I'm still losing weight and eating like a pig. I've had to dig out all my old clothes that I couln't get into even pre-pregnancy - I am now dressing like it's 2002 but who cares??

Looks like I am not goint to be debt free any time soon. we are on the brink of taking on a huge loan plus a mortgage. We have had an offer accecpted on a 4 bedroom detached house in a really good area and we got it £55000 below the asking price!

We have a fixed rate mortgage at 3.99% for 3 years. The problem is we have to give a 25% deposit:eek: this works out to be just under £44000.

my parents are going to take out a loan for us to cover the remainder of the deposit. my OH will carry on doing overtime until we are debt free apart from the mortgage. We have about £18000 towards the deposit so far but we need to use some of that fot the arragment fee, survey and solicitors.

we have signed the mortgage application snd sent it off so they should recieve it on wednesday. Im really hoping its a formality as they told us on the phone we were could have the mortgage. I dont think ill believe anything until we get the house keys and actually move in though.

We went to view the house again and its just perfect for us, we even went for a walk in the local park that is about 2 minutes away from the house. Im completly in love with this house and would be so upset if anything went wrong this time.

Money wise we are doing pretty well in not spending too much. No takeaways although yesterdays meal was quite expensive as i cooked lamb shanks in red wine sauce. It was pretty good though.

I have just had a call from the underwriter at HSBC, the mortgage has been aproved and they are posting it out to us to sign within the next few days. one more hurdle jumped in our bid to buy our house! Its a good job too, they have completly trashed our credit rating, they did 4 searches on each of us in the process of this application so there is no way we could have applied anywhere else.

Once they receive the signed papers they will give us a date for the survey. I cant believe how stressful house buying is, it just feels like the whole thing could collapse an any minute and there isnt even a chain. we are hoping to complete and have the keys by july, OH's job moves at the start of august so he is hoping to take 2 weeks leave before hand so we have some time to get organised.

YAY to finding a perfect house and even bigger YAY to getting the mortgage sorted out. Although BOO-HISS that it's with HSBC. Just don't trust them if they try to tell you it's portable (if you remember my saga!). You'll have to let me know whereabouts roughly it is that you're buying in - I never know what part of the country you're in these days! Any photos etc always welcomed chez Panda!

I've not been on DooYoo for ages, but I'll look you up the next time that I'm there. I'm either Pandapaws or Panddda - can't remember which (it's been that long!). Has your OH got a Bingoport account? I don't think they mind if two people from the same address both have one, so you can do twice as much posting a day for points. I've not been on there for months either!

So pleased that everything's working out for you so well right now. Hopefully it'll continue that way!

I found you on dooyoo panda, love the picture you chose.

Having a bit of a panic over the house, we have the mortgage aproved, the survey and valuation is done but our solicitor has tried to contact their solicitor 4 times this week with no reply. I have been trying to phone the estate agent and keep getting told she is on the phone or at lunch. We are completly in love with the house and have paid almost £1500 out so far in fees etc.

Nothing will happen now until the solicitor responds and I just have a bad feeling about it. why is house buying so bloomin stressful.
