Wow Lunar, you said you'd made some changes - you weren't joking! That's brill that your OH can make so much extra from overtime, wish I could do that but we're so tightly regulated it's nigh on impossible. Get him pimped out every spare minute of the day!!!

You might find that you'll lose more weight while breastfeeding - I lost a bit despite filling my face with chocolate every minute of the day. How are you finding it? Is DS a good feeder? I'm always so jealous of these women who have babies who sit and feed contentedly, it was always such a battle with both of mine.

I've got a friend who's an estate agent in the area you used to live in, if that's where the new house is, so just shout if you want me to ask him for any non-biased advice.

Greg screaming, again. Nyeh. See ya!

DS is a really good feeder, the first month was very hard and i almost gave up loads of times but im lucky because its really easy now. its just hardtiming going out between feeds, he will normally sleep the whole time we are out though. I am starting to loose some weight but im cutting out the junk to do it, and exercising.

As for moving we are goint to a completly new city! but we will be there for a few years, ill pm you later.

  • Hi Lunar,

It's great that DS will breastfeed, my two never had any interest. DS managed for two days and decided that was enough he got more out of a bottle and DD gave up after a week after deciding that she was more hungry than I could give her.

Good luck with the deposit saving.

Just got a call from OH, He has managet to get 48 hours locum next weekend. We are not sure of the hourly rate yet someone will email us back soon hopefully. It will be taxed really heavily though, does anyone know where the higher tax band starts, and what percentage they take? Every penny of the extras will be saved for the house deposit.

  • Wow, things are going so brilliantly for you. What a difference a year makes!

I've found beastfeeding to be briliant for weightloss. I've eaten everything that's crossed my path and still lost weight. I will probably end up enormous when I finally get to stop feeding.

Tom is an avid feeder but not at all relaxed while doing it. Each feed is like a mini-battle during which he flings around, pinches, scratches, kicks and lately has taken to sliding his legs off my knee and attempting to feed while standing up...grr!

I think it's about 35k for this year, and going up to 38k for next year for the 40% tax rate. I'd have thought your OH would already be paying it? Only difference on a second job is that there's no personal allowance so it seems like you're paying more. When you get told the hourly rate, half it as that's more likely what you'll see at the end of the day!

Glad that breast feeding is working for you. I gave up at about 4-5 months this time as Greg just wasn't seeming to be getting enough and was hungry all the time. I managed 7 months last time, but it was a constant battle and I hated every minute. My boobs are just the wrong shape for it, it was far too difficult! That's fab that you're still doing it Choca! Does Tom not bite?!
  • Not as a general rule, but I can always tell when he's teething as that's when he does bite...hard. Lunar probably doesn't wish to know this but more than once he's bitten so hard it bled and one time he actually tore a hole in my nipple! That was sore for ages.

He does like to bite anyway though and thinks it's really funny :( He bit my toe tonight just out of the blue as he passed me!

Im terrified now, ill have to keep a close watch on his teeth arriving it never occured to me he might bite. How long do you think you will feed him for? i always imagined it to be around a year but i guess i wont know untill i get there. we tried twice using the pump and bottle, he just screamed so i gave up.

panda, it was the % they take i was confused about, 40%!!!! do they take more NI too?

OH has just called me, the hourly rate for next weekend is £32.00!!! I think he needs to quit his job and just work locum. Its not to far away either so he doesnt have to stay away from home. He just has to go in sat and sun mornings, and be available the rest of the time if needed. Its not often he has to go in, just the confusing calls at 3am.

If im right he should get just over £900 after they take the tax off. Your right panda ill have to keep him pimped out as much as possible. Actually he loves his job so much, he loves a challenge and is more than happy to work any opportunity to be able to buy our house. He has decided to keep 3 weeks holiday saves so when we do move in he will be at home with us for a long break.
