Ah Christmas shopping, I love it too
The best thing for me is when DH is out and the kids are in bed and I have the entire living room floor to myself with the wrapping paper, tags and a large glass of wine

I love wrapping the pressies, i take over the living room and play christmas music and have loads of nibbles. I have a huge bag of wrapping supplies that i always get in the sales in january.
Ive not spent anything over the weekend and wont be spending today, payday on thursday and i still have £200 in the bank! Ill be putting £100 into saving for DS for his main christmas pressie so i think ill do that now while the money is there.
My BT credit card came through, just to confuse myself even further i have applied for another card on a it of a whim to see if i can get enough of a limit to cover the whole of the alliance and leister loan. One major downer is that when i rang for the settlement figure they told me it was £9400, so more than £1000 over what i thought it would be. its because the interest is front loaded. I would have to get a credit limit of over £6000 on a new card to fully pay it off which i cant see happening. Its not all bad though even if i only get a £3000 limit OH said he would pay the difference instead of paying the egg loan. I was just making an attempt to get all the remaining debt onto 0% interest.
I need to go rework my debt totals to include the A&L remaining loan, which is pretty demoralising to be adding it to my debts.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -

Ive joined the 20k by xmas 09 challenge, with the aim to be debt free. no idea if i will make it but ill give it a bloomin good try. Not off to a good start with that or the diet however as i just ordered domino's pizza online! i did get 25% off though so i feel justified.
NSD for me today, as i used OH's card for the pizza.
DS is now 10lbs 6oz, his cheeks are starting to get really chubby now. luckily the 0-3 month clothes are still pretty big on him so he should still have some good wear in them yet. I have bought some 3-6 months which will be wrapped up for christmas.
Still waiting to hear about the virgin card before i make a final decision about how to move my debt around. im really keeping my fingers crossed that i get the card, it would make a huge difference to my interest payments.

got my free royal mail stamps this morning, ill have to remember to post the letters for surveys on thr right days now, at least they dont seem too complicated.
i called virgin this morning re application, the message said they are taking around 21 days to process applications right now due to the high demand. i was really hoping to find out now so i could move some balances around. I think ill just have to pay off egg with the bt card as ive transfered the money to my current account already.
not going to be a nsd today, going into town for late night shopping tonight.DFW NERD NO.656 DEBT FREE 24TH NOVEMBER 2010 TOTAL DEBT AUGUST 2007 £39000MFiT T2 NO.56 WE OWN [STRIKE]25%[/STRIKE] 31.5% OF OUR HOUSE SO FAR!0 -
21 days?! That's crazy. I've been speaking to Virgin this morning - just about to post on my own diary.
I absolutely loved PurpleTea's post above - "The best thing for me is when DH is out and the kids are in bed and I have the entire living room floor to myself with the wrapping paper, tags and a large glass of wine ". I don't know why but it made me feel all emotional - it's such a simple thing, but that's the life that I so desperately strive for but instead I live in constant chaos. I remember me & DH bickering last year at about 2am on Christmas morning because we were trying to get everything wrapped up but were shattered from doing so much that day. Must get ourselves sorted out.
Anyway, enjoy the late night shopping!0 -
i know what you mean about chaos panda, why is it such a fight to have a calm life? you will have to try using some time when all the men are at work/school/child minders to sort christmas out! Its so busy trying to be debt free with all the extra bits like surveys we do.
