Thanks for that MIT, did you get the pics through? i think im having some trouble with my mail when i am sending messages they are not always going through properly.

I have managed a no spend day today and got some cleaning done. I have also had to put away some of DS clothes that dont really fit him now! he is now in his newborn things. we are going to venture out tomorrow into town, i need to get some bits, apparently my OH cant cope with going into mothercare and asking for breast pads without me!

cant wait to get my totals updated in the next few days, it seems like ages since i have made any payments to my accounts. I really want to get egg down to below £4500 this month. I would love to get it below £4000 before christmas, that would nean i will have paid off over half of a 4 year loan in under a year. i made my first payment to it on 1st feb this year and the total was £9200. When i get rid of egg i will look into the A&L loan, i really dont know if i can overpay on this or if i will have to save up and pay it all in one. im pretty sure i will end up with a penalty though as it isnt a flexi loan. I prob wont be able to make overpayments much longer anyway, when my wage drops on mat leave i think i can only make the min payments. there will also be 3 months where i dont get an pay but i have saved enough to cover min payments on those months.

well i didnt manage my no spend day today. i went into town and spent too much in boots as usual. I did get loads of points though and it was for essential items so im not feeling too guilty.

I didnt get much else done, DS was fine while we were out, he likes being in the car and pram. while we have been at home he has cried each time i put him down. He has gone to sleep now, hopefully it might last a couple of hours.

I have been writing out my thank you cards, but they are not to neat im still getting used to doing everything one handed. Im also sat looking at a big pile of ironing that i really cant be bothered to do. Do i have to bother ironing the clothe that DS has grown out of, they will only get crumpled when i put them away!

Im going to try earning another amazon voucher while he is sleeping ready to claim next week. i also really want to get back on top of all the daily clicks again, im pretty sure i can do those one handed every day.

    1) no you don't NEED to iron ANYTHING let alone the baby things your son has grown out of! If you fold them straight off the line, then I think they will be wearable.

    2) Sorry if this comes across wrong but don't get into the habit of picking DS up every time he cries. Give it a little. Same when you put him down again. Let him cry for say 30 seconds before picking him up. Otherwise you run the risk of having a child that will only go to sleep being held by you. fine at his age, not so clever at 3 or 4.....

sorry if this is a bit blunt. But I know a mum who has real trouble with her 7 year old still because of this.

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
  • No, you don't need to iron anything he's grown out of! Why give yourself extra work?

I've got a baby here too that doesn't like being out down. He was fine for the first month or so and since then he wants you with him all the time. I half put it down to having a big brother and sister who give him everything he wants (They come in from school and pick him up off the floor even though he was playing quite happily) and half put it down to the baby's personality - DS was happy not to be held, DD wanted you with her all the time and Tom is exactly the same. Funnily when they grew into "big" people they are exactly the same - DS likes his own company, is happy to spend time on his own and has a couple of select very good friends but hates big crowds and DD is a very social, active character, always on the go, with loads of friends and always wanting to be with someone (if there's no friends around, she's like my shadow!!)

chev, not blunt at all. i pick him up straight away if he is having a good night and i know it will be for feeding. he prob cries for a min anyway while i get my barings. when he is being fussy i do give him a min to see if he settles back to sleep. he will normally settle if he is awake but really drousy. we had a brilliant night last night, he woke me at 12, 4 and 7.30, then went straight to sleep in the moses basket. any advice is greatly apriciated.

Chocaholic, i can really see such a strong personality in him even at this stage. he is so expressive which has suprised me at this age.

so glad you both said not to iron his old clothes, will get them packed away today!

NSD today for me, which will be the first one of my 10 for the nov challenge. Off to check my accounts now and look at some over payments.

I really do think babies have personailty from the word go as my eldest two have been SO different.

Tom also has a strong personality already...or else he is a naughty baby, I'm not sure which. I think he is going to be like his big sister and want to do everything independently. He already doesn't like you to hold his spoon and cup and when he is standing up he tries to push your hands off him, with no regard for the fact that he couldn't balance by himself. DD's mantra ued to be "Me do it" and I can see him being exactly the same!!

He also seems to be starting to communicate - he is understanding little things we say regularly ("Clap your hands", "Who's coming?" etc) and he is starting to try and tell us things, eg straining madly to get to the CD player in the kitchen and making his "singing" noise (Oddly he does exactly the same to the food mixer in my Mam's until she turns it on and he sings and dances to that too! Bizarre child!!)

I know youwill anyway but enjoy your little one while he is small as it doesn't last long at all. I can't believe Tom will be one just after christmas (which seems to be creeping up fast!!)

I cant beiliev tom is almost one, this year has gone so quick. How old were your babies when they lifted there head. He seems to be trying desperatly if i put him onhis tummy, and manages for a couple of seconds. If i put him on my shoulder for burping he lifts his head right off my shoulder for a few seconds to look around. I really dont know what age they start doing all these things, im a bit of a baby dummy!

I bet tom is so cute dancing to the cd player. Im loving every minute of being a mum, im watching him all the time. when he falls asleep you can see he is dreaming, he goes between frouning and smiling which is just so cute
