Great can someone delete this thread its getting boring now!!
Just ruined a great day for me!I like to think I can help but its for discussion purposes only so if I get it wrong please feel free to correct me.0 -
I have had an Oyster card for years and have nothing but positives to say.
Easier, faster and more convenient for when im working in London.
Yet another example of someone both misusing and misunderstanding the system and jumping onto their high horse to complain.
Next time, id suggest you read the small print before you complain. It might prevent such obvious mistakes (which im afraid, are yours, on TFL)
I feel sorry for the poor customer service people that have had to deal with you
OnePoll - £12.40, Yougov - £1.00, VO - £24.25, youdoo miles - 24292, MHF - £0.00
Not much, but its a start :rotfl:

Looks like this thread has been trolled, but I'll contribute.
I was charged £4 for a £2 trip (the touching out wasn't registered). I didn't notice for about 3 weeks.
When I raised it, I was told that one has to make a claim within 14 days as per the TfL Conditions of Carriage.
Now it's only £2, but apparently TfL have made over £1 million from this, and what's to stop it happening again? To cut a long story short after several emails I got the refund.
I've had a few incidents with Oyster since it was launched, and have found that unless you're in a hurry, email is the way forward for communicating.
Finally, they email you when you've been topped up, if the top up fails; why not when you've been overcharged? If you have auto-top up set and travel frequently, you may never notice.0 -
i got capped @ £3.10 for a 1-3 zonal journey the ova week

works both ways... saved 40p! heheeeeeeee

Not a case of being trolled, a case of someone that does not understand the system You also seem to be one of those people. You were charged £4 for a £2 journey....Why because YOU forgot to touch out not LUL. I never have that issue and pay £2 for each of my journeys. The T$C's state what happens if you do not touch out, if you do not want to pay the extra money ithe onus is on you not anyone else!!!!Looks like this thread has been trolled, but I'll contribute.

He didn't say that, he said that it "wasn't registered ! Somewhat different and a not uncommon occurrence apparently.
I said much earlier in this thread that many of these schemes rely on confusing the travellers and errors in the system to make money. I have been "caught" by this.
I only travel to London occasionally but still decided to get an Oyster card. On a recent trip involving two "log-ins" and two log-outs":
One "log-in" worked.
One "log-in" and one "log-out" each required two attempts on the card reader.
On the final "log-out" it refused to work at all, a member of staff let me out using my card on the side gate.
When I checked my account I found I had been charged £4 for each trip instead of £1. I phoned and was offered a refund - however the refund cannot be credited back to my card directly, I have to visit an LT station and give them a refund number to get the refund.
I have to nominate the station in advance and the refund will only be paid if I then visit that station within a limited time period !
Could anything be more cumbersome ?0 -
Thats outragious! im assuming you can buy them easily enough though, from just about anywhere, Id want it refunded straight into my bank, not on some dodgy "oyster" card.moonrakerz wrote: »He didn't say that, he said that it "wasn't registered ! Err, I did touch out. I remember doing it - the gates opened and let me through. If I didn't touch out, why did they refund me?
Incidentally, I refused to nominate a station for the refund- I hardly ever use the tube, hence my memory of touching out - and requested a cheque. Which arrived today.0
