Now, I don't know whether peterbaker is a 'knobjockey' or not. I don't know how right or wrong he is, or whether he has given TfL enough opportunity to deal with his complaint etc etc etc. But what I do know is that organisations these days are predicated on the idea that making things difficult for customers who do not have the choice to go elsewhere adds to revenues. I know because I have dealt with 'customers' for more than 20 years and have done it very well in an environment where good 'customer' relations was encouraged. More recently, this has been replaced by faceless call centres whose remit is to deflect the 'customer' as much as possible and make it more difficult for them to get refunds or paid-for services.

If a chap can't come on to a forum like this, designed as it is for ranting about injustice, without getting shouted down and being told not to be a Victor Meldrew (as if that were a bad thing) and to calm down and take chill pills, where in the blazes CAN he do it? Too many of his detractors (and I'm not saying whether you're individually right or wrong about his actual problem) seem to have a great deal of misplaced faith in public institutions, and their prejudices in this regard make it hard to take them seriously, whether they are right or wrong.

Take a look at his previous posts on any subject and the way he replies to people, deserves what he gets IMHO

Boris are you noting this down?
FYI, Kulveer Ranger the chap who was responsible for rolling out the Oyster Card is actually Boris's Director of Transport:

    Thanks G_A ...

... still owed at least £6.70 and maybe even £26.70 ... havent had a chance to double-check my card debits and TFL very kindly changed the login for my online account and made it inaccessible - cunning strategy for locking in value do we think ?

uganda thanks for adding some balanced comments.

cjgoodsell, if you insist on contributing then please be so kind as to read the additional information I bring here - I have not "got it sorted some way" at all. I was just giving an example of how easy it ought to be to get credits and refunds on all Oystercards, and demonstrating that it is far better NOT to get embroiled in Oystercard's Auto Top-Up by totally avoiding it.

Fluffy, nothing positive to contribute? I have contributed far more to MSE than your insignificant attempts at summation will ever uncover, thanks.
  • Peter Baker.... Will you please Drop it... leave it alone until its finally sorted!! I have had enough of seeing this at top of the board everyday! I sure others will agree with me... Next time you post please tell me you have your money back!!

Sorry cjgoodsell, the only effort I am expending on the question of getting my money back now is here. The lazy wotsits at TFL evidently can't be bothered about it either way.

So then, still £6.70 down. Or is it £26.70?

    Auto TopUp anyone?
