Evening everyone,
Hope your all ok, feel better to all that need to and hugs to those who want them. I feel great today - being on top of the housework really makes a difference to my mood!
Have done pretty well today - Told DH we needed to hoover, he asked why and I replied 'because flylady said so' he just gave one of those what the hell are you on about but did it anyway, bless him!!
Wiped the dado rails in living room and did a bit of a tidy up to. Dusted the fire place to.
I also did my exercise DVD so my MACAW is going well to!

greenbee, hope you're Mam is ok, pleased to hear your Dad is ok
Mappygirl well done at getting him involved, wish mine would take the hints, even if I slapped him in the face with it he still wouldn't
boddy, hope you're ok
Rach ((big hugs)) I really don't know how you do it, even the thought of commuting again horrifies me
lauradora it's not failing!!! It's having different priorities today!
Thinking of you toots xx
jackie the only thing I know repels spiders is chesnut oil, and conkers, might be worth a try. That said there isn't many spiders about yet. The more commercial spider repellants contain chesnut oil, something else, think it might be citronella but not sure. Another way to deter of course is not leave things in the same place for a long time, they won't usually make home when something moves a lot.
pigpen hope you're feeling better soon
serena hope everyones feeling better soon!
Back from DPs club, jumped straight in the shower when I got in, trying to allocate my time better and thinking I can dry off while I do the last of the night time stuff, and catch up with you guys a bit
Didn't manage to get a sideboard today, DP was in a right mood again so I didn't even want to discuss it so spent loads of time decluttering, which felt better but didn't look like I'd done much. Going tomorrow hopefully.
Just watched the Secret Millionaire on the +1 thing, I love that programme, watching the weathly hit reality again in a lot of cases, going to record the revisited ones as I love seeing where they are now. Need to finish pack ups and empty the dehumidifier so best go do that. Goodnight all xOne day I might be more organised...........

Hi there folks,
Firstly; I'm just about to fail my M.A.C.A.W. for today, but I did do it yesterday
Today has mainly been spent outside on scaffolding sanding windows, but I've (sorry, DD and I) done her bedroom which was atrocious. Friday is just way to far down the week for me every week, so it's good to have a mix up, as last week and the week before and um, the week before it just hasn't been done.
My M.A.C.A.W. is a "simple" one .... bed by 11pm. Asleep before midnight.
Others:
[STRIKE]Menu plan[/STRIKE]
Make tomato sauce with cherry toms from the greenhouse
Buy a scrapbook for DD to be a “profile” book
Draw up DD’s party guest list
School shoes – cleaned
[STRIKE]Uniform – pressed and hung
Dinner for tonight[/STRIKE] - sc lamb tagine with apricots and almonds with cous cous ... DD ate it all !!!
Minging Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
Level One
[STRIKE]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces[/STRIKE]
Level Two
[STRIKE]Sweep and mop floors
Sort & clean fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front, clean out any spills or grots in there!
Wipe dining table.. (clean table cloth if necessary) [/STRIKE] - found the missing needle my ma had mislaid after sewing name tapes in my DD's skirts
Level Three
[STRIKE]Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc [/STRIKE]
Wipe all the windows in these areas!!
[STRIKE]Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances .. don't forget those kick boards..
Check those washing machine filters and drawers for ickiness!! Tumble dryer, cooker hood and dishwasher filters need to be done too!![/STRIKE]
Extra Mission : help yourself- [STRIKE]clean the hob..[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps.. a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk![/STRIKE] - there was a reason I didn't tile the kitchen
- [STRIKE]29 fling boogie..[/STRIKE] - well, I did empty 5 bags by making muesli with what I had, and I did finish 2 spice jars ... it's a start!
- [STRIKE]GO! buy yourself some flowers from the shop.. your reward for making the kitchen shine![/STRIKE] - still too many flowers
- [STRIKE]Empty the bin.. wash it out.. and make it smell SWEET[/STRIKE] - I did the plastics recycling bin today .. full of dead woodlice
Level 1
Vacuum floors and sofas
Level 2
[STRIKE]Dusting, even if around everything[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe [/STRIKE] - ongoing
Clean TV, other electricals and cabinets
HHI
Level 3
[STRIKE]Wipe and water plants[/STRIKE] - threw out DD's dead plant (sssh) and she watered (drowned) her african violet (bright pink she'll have y'know!) .. need to do tomatoes tomorrow though
Clear the top of a cupboard or the mantle and give it a thorough clean and put back only what is supposed to be there. - that's a good one to do, I have details of a car accident which happened over 10yrs ago safely stored on one, I told DH I would "forgive" (stop mentioning it) after 10yrs, I'll give it to him to incinerate tomorrow.
Vacuum under furniture you can manage to move without hurting yourself - saving vacuuming until Friday and will do all in one hit, currently causing too much distress with DIY
Extra Mission: Pick one or more of the following tasks –
[STRIKE]
Clean windows & any other glass like mirrors, pictures etc
Wipe down any paintwork that needs it.[/STRIKE] - technically using an orbital sander, but hey it's a start to shiny window frames!- Binbag dance.. Get a binbag.. fill it and bin it!!! Get rid of those hideous things!!
- Wash any cushions, throws or curtains that need it.. Do you need your thick winter curtains up yet?
Level One
[STRIKE]Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Make an appointment for some ME-time.. hairdressers? manicure? night out with friends? .. whatever just do it![/STRIKE] - um, emergency apptm't for broken tooth and another apptm't to get my verucca frozen ... I know how to live the high life!
Level Two
Vacuum the floor
[STRIKE]Dusting.. all those shelves and flat fluffy surfaces!! Don’t forget the light shade and curtain pole!!![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Strip beds, turn and vacuum mattresses!! and replace with fresh linen .. check if duvets need freshening up too!! [/STRIKE] - did and put fleecy blankets for under and over her. She ain't gonna be coming to me frozen .. I refuse!
Level Three
[STRIKE]Clean 2 windows[/STRIKE] - she has 2 windows, they got quickly s&s'd
[STRIKE]Sort through a cupboard/chest of drawers and get the clothes out which are no longer wearable, too small or out of season![/STRIKE] - my mother did that with her at the w/e .... bonus!
[STRIKE]Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors[/STRIKE] - found none, doesn't mean they're not there, just not yet found them ....
Extra Task List- [STRIKE]Find 5 things to ebay/freecycle[/STRIKE] - or to hand down to friend's DD ... more to the point
- [STRIKE]Wipe the radiators, skirtings and window & door frames![/STRIKE] - skirtings were pigging
- HHI - ues, defo need to do that tomorrow, as did a load on Monday but rest of it hopefully will be dry enough to do tomorrow
- [STRIKE]Mid week fling!! grab a binbag and fill it with stuff to leave the house.. rubbish or charity shop or to donate to a friend![/STRIKE] - fits into no.1
