When using the converter mine work's out at 14:02:xx which is about the time i thought i'd done it in.

I entered a form for my mum, and then one for me... both of us were pre registered from the initial promo, have seperate addresses, and I did them one after the other so no cheating was going on .

Anyway... I got the same ref no. for both, and mums was submitted about 1-2 mins before my own was.

I bet if you had used the link sent to each of your email addresses that you would not have been given the same ref number. Mind you I am no techy....so prob wrong!

The only link sent in an email was to the /1928status page and then from there the /1928 page.

I can't imagine that would have caused it as there wasn't anything using the email address to refer to. Ah well, fingers crossed I guess.

I think that Unix time converter thing has got to be right. in which case, I need to hoep that 3,000+ submissions weren't made int he first two minutes

That's why it's true that the 'reference' on the confirmation screen simply tells you the exact time you applied, and it is not a unique number. I think they must have recorded the time of submission down to the millisecond to distinguish between people submitting at the same time!

Everyone who applied does have a chance, but I reckon it's a small one given that there were 150,000 registered before the first chaotic attempt.

I'm gutted coz same thing happened to me.Booked my own stuff and since my sister is at work even though she lives at a different address thgt I could book for her too and it told me that I had already submitted a request earlier and referred to my previous reference number.I think it was using the surname for comparison because I ended up booking a room under my boyfriends name and it went trhough fine on the same computer.Different address of course.Does that mean my ealrier two submissions will be both discarded????

I think perhaps a few more should email her saying well done. As I said in my email everyones too quick to complain and not quick enough to complement where due.

I e-mailed thanking her for the smooth running of today's competition too, as thought Gaz's idea was nice. I got this reply shortly after.

my last 3 digits of my reference number are 590

if you subtract 400 from your last 3 digits you will see how many seconds it took you.

It took me 190 seconds! that's terrible , oh well.:cool:

hey i just did that converter thing like yours welsh but the time says 14.00 23rd oct! thats not rigt is it because i did mine after 3pm? you say yours was at 2 something too but the competition opened at 3pm!? i am confused!
