I can feel the tension sizzling over the air and into this computer. Everyone has made vague 'if I can get it' plans - good luck people, and may every room be filled with MSE'ers! If I don't get that room in the Baghdad I'll still congratulate the winners from our group!

  • I've only just seen this, so i've just registered only to be told i need to put a password in

I don't remember putting in a password when i registered . I'm not that bl**dy forgetful :rotfl:. Now it won't let me get back on the site grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!

That's it...... fed up with it. I'm having a bacon sarnie instead.

Oh..so aren't I allowed to check out the website ...the hotels and dates etc. because I'm increasing traffic to the site??:confused: Also note my post was an observation concerning an attempt to get on the site last night, not today.

Some people are so quick to bite...

There's obviously no point in going into it early

    I disagree.
If you have specific dates that you are looking for (not everyone can be completely flexible) then it's worth checking availability beforehand.
There is no point wasting precious secnds checking dates if the hotel is full.

I agree that this means the site is extremely busy, but hey, what a great marketing ploy.
I wouldn't pay their prices but they've certainly got some publicity.
  • what are everyone's experiences so far?

i got on to the home page early this morning and was recognised..."YOU ARE REGISTERED".

when i click on a hotel i then get that message that a lot of people are getting "sorry! Due to the overwhelming number of consumers..."

so the question is what are our tactics?? if you have a nice home page or even are on the www.lhc.com/1928 page then is it worth risking clicking on a hotel at this early stage? cos then you lose the page you had and struggle to get it back?

i was originally hoping that i could select my hotel and get the dates in the boxes prior to 1pm then i would click on the 'search' button to check for availability once 1pm came around.

    tactics anyone?

multiple browsers. multiple registered email addresses (obviously only actually book with one of them) are the best bet to eventually get something....assuming they extend the 80 minute timeframe.

    Hey

I registered on the site on my laptop at home.

Now I am worried I will not be able to access the specific link from a different computer as the part of the page which says how many hours left is not coming up it's just the box which says - please register here (and I have already registered but using a different computer).

Can anyone see the link on their computers that is to be clicked when the offer kicks off???

Sure they would warn you if this was the case
  • thanks for sharing magpiejay.

are you talking about multiple browsers or multiple browser windows?

I finally got onto www.lhc.com/1928 just now, but i wasn't recognised (i.e. "YOU ARE REGISTERED") so i typed in the same details again and now it says "YOU ARE REGISTERED" but i've done that a few times with the same details and now i'm never getting recognised.

this whole registration thing, we never put in passwords so i presume it was just an excersise in collecting email addresses? i don't understand the registration thing if we haven't provided passwords for authentication.
