Could the 0517 etc number not be a reference to hotels rather than posistion in queue (if as said before ppl have same numbers for different bookings)
Then they can pile the requests in hotel order, which would make it easier for them to sort through?0 -
I think everyone has got the same ref number. I've entered for myself, then for my neighbour upstairs (who agrees to cook me a meal in exchange of entering it for her), then I also entered it for my brother. We all got the same reference number - 0517.
Oh really sorry but I think they discarded your second and third entries as you should have had different reference numbers, can you go onto another computer and re do the ones for your neighbour and brother?0 -

Just an idea, you could copy and paste your confirmation page onto a word document and save it on your desktop.
I wish they sent you a copy of your form I didnt check over mine at all!0 -

...or delete your cookies..and use a different address....though it's probably a bit late now...unless you're going for an obscure hotel. Anyone for Venezuala?0 -

I was thinking the same, 3 of us all had the same first choice and got the same ref- the London one (flexible dates), although our second and third choices are different.0 -
If anyone's interested, the Americans are discussing it here:

Oh thats me scupered then really as my dates were in earlier December when we are in the UK. That was really clever of you to ring.
Just a note now, in my excitement, I have revealed my full reference number to say you have to provide ID so it really shouldnt matter if you have revealed your full reference number unless you have a sneaky namesake reading and my surname is daftly uncommon - phew
Angie, it is the confirmation email, if you are lucky, that you will have to produce. The ref number is only proof that you have submitted a request. :-)0 -
Can I just say to the two posters above with numbers in the first 35 - gosh you are quick! Ever thought of applying for who wants to be a millionnaire as you would win the fastest finger round hands down!0

Hmmm, looking at the US site, some sharp-shooters there (under a minute) still only had 4xx numbers. Has anyone got a 1xx, or 2xx, or 3xx? I'm wondering if it starts at 4xx and the earlier numbers were for 'test runs'.0
