LOL, in tesco last week I noticed the value butter is 20p MORE than Willow (21p more in Asda!), and the value super glue is more than the Bostik! :rotfl:

I remember an offer in Sainsburys a couple of years ago for Walls Vienetta...

    £1.99 each or 2 for £1.89
  • They must just think that we don't pay any attention at all (maybe some don't, I can't afford NOT to!) and so long as there is a sign up saying "Special Offer" or BOGOG etc we'll just grab it and be happy. lol

Asda are terrible for this. Mugshots sweet n sour - 37p each or 4 for £1.50

Actually, anything that deters people from buying from Asda is to be welcomed. Lets hope they continue with this witless policy and price themselves out of business.

Asda should take a leaf from Aldis book. It IS possible to offer good prices and excellent quality - but not from any Walmart company.

  • On a similar note, but it's not food related.

I saw Fawlty Towers on DVD in a high street music and DVD shop. As there were only 2 series made, the complete Fawlty Towers on DVD cost £20. Buying the series seperately cost £8 each.

I have seen this sort of examples several times. For example, I purchased Abba Forever Gold (Gold and More Gold in a double album) for 50p less than one of the albums purchased seperately.

Some excellent offers about - buy one, get one, buy two get two - it is surprising what we sometimes fall for ...

well i thought the same but obviously not, for example morrisons own brand value butter is dearer than the cheapest equivalent (willow is 68p and the value 1 is 80 odd pence) and the same in sainsburys where the basics butter is 80 odd pence but the cheapest butter is a brand name and not a morrisons own brand, im starting to look at the price of the basics brand items and see if it is actually cheaper than the supermarkets next best price own brand item

Do the world a favour please everyone; dont buy anything from ASDA, the quality is uniformly terrible and supporting them only makes it difficult for the smaller guys who can provide excellence locally.
