Hello all,
I just don't get the time to post in the week, by the time I get back from work and sort myself out, it's bedtime!
Today has been very productive, went to 2 carboots and got a box of Kenwood attachments (mincer, rumbler etc) for £10
(that included a blender, so now I can make soup). Then I went to Tesco, despite being ready to buy my shopping online, and I remembered allll my list off the top of my head and didn't buy any extras (except tinned toms and kidney beans - meant to check the cupboard but forgot, and I will use them anyway).
So, got spag bol bubbling in the SC now and a gammon joint soaking ready to be cooked later. Been busy at home, got some Ebay listings done (they are selling quite well - soooo glad to get these things out of my house!), cleaned the kitchen etc.
So, I did everything on my list today
except the ironing. I hate it.
Right, I am off to purchase my car insurance. Hope you all have a good evening! We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Evening All
Funky Fairy hope you feel better soon.
Went to work this morning, got caught in a traffic jam for an hour, making me over an hour late for work:mad: Thought it was a crash but was a queue to get into a boot fair and they decided to take up the entire roundabout:wall: So I'll probably get into trouble tomorrow.
Not really done much other than that today. Had roast lamb for dinner and had my first ever Skype conversation with my friend in Spain. :T
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -

Sorry I haven't had a chance to read this thread - I shall be skimming, posting and running while darling father is here.
However I certainly can make time to send hugs to all - especially Meanmarie as I managed to pick up on your situation. I hope all goes well, and my darling father has survived many strokes and is still alert, doing crosswords, playing golf and in general is in a much better state than I am and he is 77. He has had good treatment, and I am just using this as an example to say that it is amazing the recovery that can be made!
I have had the pleasure of my Sister in Law, Wannabe Hyacinth, visiting today, and she arrived when everyone else in the house - little bear, dear heart, darling father and even evil cat - were having a nap! I have promised to make her some chilli vodka, and I really don't know why as I don't have a recipe and I don't know why I planted the chilli plant in the garden, which is being remarkably productive, especially as I loathe spicy food. So of course, the first port of call for research is the collective wisdom on here.
I hope to catch up soon, but until then hugs to you all.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
well I am tired! done loads of washing, all the baskets are empty, ironed DS's stuff for going back to uni, planted my winter bedding/bulbs in to my tubs, weeded front garden, made a lovely piece of pork in slow cooker for tea, ran son back to uni.....and a few other odds and ends along the way. just remembered - need to go and put last load of washing in the tumble drier, its DDs school uniform for tomorrow. got sidetracked earlier and forgot to hang it out and it will not be dry for tomorrow otherwise.
tomorrow if weather is nice again will get OH to dig up a bed of irises for me. they need to be thinned out. hope meanmarie has had some good news.x x x0 -
Many thanks for pms and good wishes..Ulick had a cat scan this afternoon and they hope to have the results to-morrow....at this stage the opinion is that it was a stroke which has affected his speech...no problem speaking, just that much of it is not making sense and we are not sure if he is aware that he is speaking rubbish....words that he has dragged from somewhere which have little relevance to what is going on around him...he is slightly better when we speak Gaelic, as it is his first language, but not anywhere near normal.
Not keeping up with posts...hugs to all in need or want and congratulations to all who are celebrating

Marie If it's any consolation at least Ulick isn't aware he's not speaking properly. He'd be really worried as we all would be. I hope he makes a good & speedy recovery. Lucky it didn't happen a few months before over here. You have your family close by for support. I hope it's not taking too much of a strain on you. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. xxxDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.
