We've been pottering in the garden, I've been trying to keep hubby busy as he's having a bad day. Still no cheque from BIL2 & though he's working for BIL1 next week, he can't pay him either as he's spent all his money on his new leather corner suite!! Family, who needs them, lol.

Big hugs to MM & OH, hope you get some good news soon.

I need to speak to my boss next week, I have 2 pages full of what's wrong, health & safety wise with my job, hopefully they can move me to another part of the team.

    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Hi all - just popping in while DH is mowing the lawn. Pippa - I've had the same problem as you today! I don't know how many times I've been interrupted. I've been sorting out household paperwork. In the end I put him on shredding duties and that kept him occupied!

The weather has been gorgeous so we went out for a walk after lunch then came back for a snooze. I hope everyone else is having good weather.

(((Hugs))) to everyone; Meanmarie - I hope there has been good news from the hospital.

Well, I'd better go and check on the dinner.

    See you all later.

    Hi guys,

Meanmarie - I hope you are both ok and that the scan went alright. xxxxx

I have pottered about today, fixed the door handle that was broken on the lounge door (no more pliers to open it ) tidied through and done some chicken legs marinaded in some cajun seasoning with baked spuds and veg for tea. Well they are eating theirs and I will have mine later. DS1 enjoyed camp and his washing is currently in the WM.

Nothing else much today, DD enjoyed yeserday and we followed with pizza for tea and some doughnuts that she had been eyeing up while we were out.

Must do the i***ing tonight  but I have the 2 episodes of Wire in the blood taped to watch while I am at it.

Gentle hugs to all, have a good night.

    Smoky. xxxx

Twink..how do you make jelly without the pips and everything,, as that sounds good ..with all the berries and apples,, do you just strain it after its cooked

My BM has just stopped but the loaf has fallen in the middle.. dont know what causes that

Ann i just picked what i could find our elderberries are not all ripe yet and the birds have made off with the rowans

i just reckoned it would be a healthy jelly for the winter

i popped everything in the pressure cooker pan, i deseeded the rosehips, a bit fiddly but they were huge and i had about 10 i think then i just covered with water till the elderberries were cooked then put it in a fine mesh bag dh had for his winemaking and let it drip then i sqeezed the rest of the juice out when it cooled a bit

one pound sugar to one pint liquid, i had two and three quarter pints, then a good rolling boil till set, didnt take long, i use a thermometer, i think the crab apples are the secret as they have a lot of pectin

you could do crab apple jelly only and colour with a handful of rowan berries, cook all then put in bag, most jellies are 1pint juice to 1lb sugar

    pm me if not sure
