The ISA regulations permit partial transfer of previous years'/year's funds but ISA managers do not have to accept them - many do not. NatWest appear to be saying that they are among those institutions which will not accept partial transfers.0

If Nationwide allow partial transfers out, then it should be. I was told on the phone by NatWest that partial transfers in were allowed. Maybe you want to check with them the best way to fill in the form (which by all accounts here doesn't seem too well designed).
In the past I've done 'transfer everything out but £XXX' at another provider, so it's definitely possible.0 -
Thanks guys (Baldur & runciblespoon) .... I'll give the nice people at NatWest helpline a call to be certain.0

What has people done for NSANDI transfers? The account number and sort code when paying in is the same for everyone on the standing order/direct debit form so I just used that?0

I'd be interested, from all those who've managed to complete their transfer application forms, how long it will take for your funds to actually appear in your respective accounts...Conjugating the verb 'to be":

Hello all,
just wondering if its worth me transfering my £6, 700 from Barclays ISA to Natwest ISA?
thanks for your replies0 -
I was already to transfer my Nationwide ISA Bond into this account to earn the extra interest. Now I am not so sure. One problem is that the Nationwide ISA bond has a 60 day notice period on it orlose 60 days interest. How can I put down a transfer date for the money as that will have to be 60 days from when Nationwide are notified that I am switching. I can not know when they will receive the form from Natwest. Also if the transfer has to be delayed for 60 days will the offer still be open? Someone mentioned it was running until 31st of October. My transfer would be after this date.0

colinw: Could you ask Nationwide if they allow partial transfers out? If they do, here's a plan:
Transfer out £1 from Nationwide to Natwest, agreeing to pay the interest penalty (check it's only on the transfer amount and not the whole balance). This will open the Natwest ISA at the bonus rate and cost you a few pennies in lost interest.
Once it's successfully through, give notice at Nationwide for the rest and tell Natwest to transfer it after 60 days. This will drop into your account and earn the bonus rate for 10 months (minus processing time).
I'd check with both Nationwide and Natwest that this procedure is OK, but it should be from what I've been told.
MigsyBigsy: what rate are you getting on the Barclays ISA? Have you finished the end of the bonus period?0 -

The notice on Nationwide ISAs is only if you want to withdraw your money, not transfer it out. You can transfer it out straight away without penatly. There is a thread on this somewhere which I'll post when I find it...
