    HI Money Fritter
Am hoping to get away for Christmas - hahaha! Not very MSE, but a lot less stressful! How about you? Will you see your gf?

Your SOA looks quite healthy and you are doing very well. It might be worth putting it up as a separate thread to see if anyone has any comments. I was wondering if you could try to negotiate getting your monthly mobile bill down? Worked for me a month or so ago! Also, is your grocery budget for one or two people?

That's enough of my sticking my oar in - have a good one!

  • Hi everyone,

Had a good works night out in middlesbrough last night. Seriously goosed and had a bad hangover this morning. Staying off the alcohol for a few days now.

Just chilling out tonight and wrapping presents. Hoping to go back home to the parents on Monday, although as I type this I am getting snowed in. There is some serious snow here right now.

Poorbutrich - I am hoping to see my girlfriend over christmas, but I will just have to see what happens, things are going slow at the moment and sometimes I do wonder were the relationship is going.

Thanks for the comments about my SOA. I have targetted the phone as one of the things I need to cut back on. I will post some comments later

Anyway take care and bye for now

So looking at my outgoings, I have decided that there are several things I will aim to reduce next year:-

    1) My mobile phone is tied in to a contract. However, I pay an extra £8.99 per month for a internet wap bundle. I hardly use this anymore, so I will get rid of this. Saving for the year £107.88

    2) I will try and cut my food shopping down to £80 a month, as recently it has cropped up. Saving for the year £240

    3) I have mortgage protection. It started a couple of years ago at about £18 per month. However, with the recession it is now £50.19. I recently looked at some new quotes. I am looking at about £20 per month.
    Saving for the year £360

    Total savings = 707.88.

That is well awesome. So I am going to get that sorted straight after christmas and hopefully put stuff towards debts and decorating.

  • Right folks,

I have been thinking about how to organise things next year. Basically the two main items on the agenda are debt busting and decorating. So I have planned as follows:-

Scratchcards - Money from this will go into christmas fund.

Surveys - Money From this will go into Decorating and emergency fund

Amazon - Money from books will go into decorating and emergency fund

Matched Betting and trading. This will be the bulk of my extra money earning and so will go towards debt busting.

Reviews - Money from this will go into Decorating and emergency fund.

Hopefully I can be strict and keep it going.

Any extra 'lose change' money from my £2, 20p and 1p,2p,5p and 10p pots will go towards christmas as well.

  • Also getting everything in place for next year, I will be participating in the following challenges:-

    1) NSD Monthly challenges
    2) Grocery Monthly challenges
    3) Make £10 per day monthly challenges
    4) Payment a Day Challenge
    5) Live off 4k per year.
    6) £2 pot challenge
    7) 20p pot challenge
    8) 1p,2p,5p and 10p pot challenge

I think that is it for now. I tried to start the 4k challenge towards the back end of this year, but could not be getting on with it. This time I am going to start at the begining of the year and give it a really good go.
