Hi folks,
Had a good weekend at the parents. I also managed to put a further 4 days worth of £3 into my emergency fund, as I stated on my Smart Plan, so I have £25 in my emergency fund now. I also did my first shop for the start of the month, I spent £40.20. I have a budget of £120 for the month. As this was the begining of the month I spent slightly more as I had some essenitial items to buy.
Happy Saving.

The Journey Towards Respecting Money Part 6
4) Self-Discipline
‘The ability to control one's feelings and overcome one's weaknesses; the ability to pursue what one thinks is right despite temptations to abandon it’
I think self-discipline goes hand in hand with patience. Again, I think it is so important to set realistic goals, as these make or break your discipline. If you set goals you can never achieve, your patience and discipline will waver and the plan will fall apart.
Because I lost patience when I didn’t see my debts going down quickly, my self-discipline took a tumble and I ended up getting frustrated and throwing in the towel, so to speak. I have finely realised that getting out of this debt mess will be a long hard slog, and that only through having good willpower, patience and self-discipline will the journey be a successful one.
It is all about baby steps!!!!!!DFW#972 LBM2 (09/07/12) £25938.84; Current £23783.35;Credit Credit Card1 £128.47/£6424.24 (2%);Credit Card2 £443.86/£15663.25 (2.8%); Overdraft £0/£2500 (0%)0 -
Right well,
I have managed my first NSD of the month, as I will be staying in tonight watching BGT, what an exciting life I lead
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I have also put another £3 towards my emergency fund, it stands at a whopping £28.
I have also transferred my last credit card to another 0% credit card. Just got to wait 5 days for it to go through.

Hi folks,
Well spent ~£42 on petrol this morning and that should last all next week, fingers crossed.
Also I am not going to badminton tonight, I will do a work out instead. This will save on petrol costs and I can put the £4 in my emergency fund, plus the normal £3, so that is another £7 in the emergency fund today
Happy saving or debt busting

Hi folks,
Well had a good weekend,
Went to a lovely BBQ for my gf's brother's housewarming, it was a great day.
Did quite well with the spending as well, as they provided everything.
I managed another £9 (£3 for friday, saturday and sunday) for my emergency fund.
I also managed a matched bet worth £33.79. So today I have put £42.79 into the emergency fund

Hi folks,
Well we had a lovely weekend, but back to the grindstone now. I am hoping to do a bit of decluttering tonight in the house. I really need to bag some charity stuff up.

Hi Money Fritter you send like our family. It's less about paying the debts and more about changing the habits. I get the same as you: The initial enthusiasm where I go totally over the top with trying to save money, and then the crash where we fall off the wagon for a month. The falling off bit has happened once so far and the credit cards haven't been whacked half as much as in the past but still it makes it so much harder to pick yourself up and get going again doesn't it?
I think it's like any habit and it can only be time that will help to break it...so I will just keep pushing on until it becomes second nature. If I slip up I will forgive myself and carry on.Staring point of debt £23,343:mad:
