  • Hurrah! It's the weekend! I had loads of offers from electricity suppliers lined up to come in today, and they all landed, but by the time I had got them all to load, one supplier withdrew theirs  I had to get reprices for them all, then another supplier withdrew, then another... I now realise it was the market going up as a result of all the cooking Floss2 has been doing :D What time do I need to arrive for the oxtail Floss?

Huge hugs for Pink-Winged, when my DD1 moved out for her degree I was heartbroken... [STRIKE]she was so good at tidying[/STRIKE]

Ditto hugs for Haribo, I hope you get your appetite back, I am the same when worrying or stressed don't forget wine (being grapes) can count as one of your five a day ;)
  • Evening all
Hugs to Haribo, Pink, Smokey & PP.
Thweekend at last, hubby is working tomorrow & I need to go & get him some new trousers, then I shall prepare apples till it's time to get him from work.
I arrived home tonight to find he had BBQ'd some tuna steaks for tea & done new pots & salad, which we ate in the garden. It was such a treat & so relaxing.
    Have a good evening.
    Hugs Hester

  • Hiya! :hello:

Hurray :j it's friday. Sorry I've not been around for ages but I seem to have been so busy with kids, work and life in general.
    Hope everyone has been ok?

I thought I'd been bitten a few times by an insect on wednesday but the Headteacher looked at my 'bites' today and told me I had chicken pox. One of the other teachers had what appeared to be bites too, but after chatting we decided to ask the other staff and the diagnosis was made! :rotfl:
We do have the chicken pox virus in school at the moment and even though we've both had it in the past, you can catch it again. I've only got 7 spots and I feel fine, just tired but that's nothing new and the Head told me not to worry as I'd probably already shared it with everyone else.
I'm not back in work until next thursday so I'm looking forward to a few days catching up on some os. Tonight DD1 is off to her youth club and tomorrow DD2 has swimming, DD1 has orchestra and then we're going over to my MIL's for a roast, which I'll be cooking.
Hope you all have a relaxing evening. :D

    Evening everyone
Phew can't get me head around posting in the evening, I see a post and want to answer only to find out 4 posts down its already been said :rotfl:
Work was good again today, thought I would only be doing the extra hours this week, should be 12.30-5.30 next week but have been told to come in at 9 again

Charliesmum - cheese and onion oatcake, yum yum. If we go 'up 'anly duck' on a Saturday, that is my treat from the stall outside woolies. lol
MrsTittlemouse - google staffordshire oatcakes and you can get the recipe, although a lot of the oatcake shops have their own secret ingredients! oh and saying shops is overdoing it a bit, the proper oatcake shops are tiny little terraced houses that sell oatcakes out of a front window, its sort of like a pancake, they are lovely, I'm a southerner who has been converted, and so has most of my family, when I visit down south I have to take oatcakes with me.
    SassyMoneySaver - Hi :hello:

Pink - hugs for you, not easy when they fly the nest xx Mine both left once they went to college  dad lived in the same town as college and you know how teenagers hate waiting for buses and telling mates they can't come cos last bus leaves at 7. I cried buckets when they left, DD first then DS 18 months later. Mind you, both kept returning on a Sunday for a roast dinner :rotfl:bringing loads of mates too!
Haribo - sound like you have had a stressful week, hugs for you, I like the sound of wine o'clock!:D
Jess - congratulations on the birth of your son xxx

As usual (((hugs)) for all those in need.

    Have a good evening

Hi all - just a quick one because I'm about to have a bath then open a bottle of Vino Collapsio.

Congratulations to Jess and welcome to little Leon - he sounds gorgeous; please post some photos when you have the chance.

Welcome to Sassy - you've joined the best thread on here!

Pippa - I only found out about the refunds from Amazon earlier this year; it was on another thread. It works really well - I've done it three times and had about £25 refunded altogether. Whenever I buy anything from them now, I make a note of the date when the 28 days is up and keep checking!

Well, off for my bath - DH is running it, as he does every night, bless him!

    Have a great evening, everyone.

    Hi all,
I deceided to call it a day at 6pm, I got something out of the freezer this am. didn't have a sticker on so knew it must have been in there for yonks. DH asked what was for dinner, I said it was a supprise  . Turned out to be bol so cooked spag and had that for dinner accompanied with a huge glass of chilled white wine. HARIBO, If you feel like joining me, for whatever reason then,, Cheers.

Will not bore you with what I did today, however I am kock-a-hoop with what was achieved. ( was not allowed to spell kock with a c:rolleyes: )

Have shopped for Y/S stuff tonight and got some duck, steak, gammon and beef for less than a third of the price. I refuse to buy anything if it's not Y/S or BOGOF. Am stocking up for Armagedon, which does not seem that far away.
SQIGGLY, I learnt how to do what I do through DH and I buying a run down 10 room cottage that is Grade 2 listed, we restored it to the origional state and would never move now. Conservation people were helpfull to a point. I also learnt by mistakes and Percy Veerance. One of these days I will tell you about me being a grave digger. Every one has to be measured to order, most people think it is 6x6 standared but no. I'm sure you will make a great job of the wardrobes, just remember to read instructions. Most men don't. Sorry I waffling. :o

MIOLIERE, I know how you feel, I haven't had any emails for 6 days, haven't had time to fix the prob, hopefully will find time on Mon.

BOOTSALEBABE, I hope that we can be of some help to your DD if she joins us on here. I know what she has gone through. Hugs to her and you. x

PINK, Oh I cried for months after my 2 DD's left home. Ehmm still shed a tear even now. :(

CANDYGIRL, My God how much more can you cope with? As I've said to PINK it's never easy when they leave but it must be more heart breaking when they come back for the reasons your DD has. Hope the rat comes to his senses.

SASSY, Welcome here, hope you enjoy our company.:hello:

JESSBROWN, GREAT CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU, tiny hug to Leon. :T

BUSYGIRL, Omg, chicken pox, poor you. take care.

Soft hugs to SMOKIE, PENPIN, IVYLEAF, ESSEXGIRL, JACKIE O (Where are you) and every one needing.

    Hello everybody,

Have been running and racing all day and we ended up with a bought frozen pizza for dinner.....yuch, but it filled the gaps.

    PenPin....sorry that you are not feeling well, take care;
Pink....didn't mind so much when mine left for college one by one, they were only gone Monday morning to Friday afternoon, but found it hard to take when they moved out and took most of their belongings too...seemed very final. Not sure what I will do when DD4 goes, she is my baby ( 27!) but she has her own little boy who is almost 6 and we find it hard to cope when he is not here for a couple of days, so the permanent move will be hard....for everyone.

Haribo....sorry to hear that you have had a bad week, enjoy the g & ts

Jess...congratulations to you and OH and welcome to Leon Joseph.

    Hester...dinner yesterday sounds lovely.

Beth....glad that you take time to rest sometimes, enjoy the evening, glad that OH is improving.

    welcome Sassymoneysaver.

Smoky...take it easy pet, you are doing so well.

Hugs to all in need or want

    Sleep well,

    Marie
