    Afternoon peeps,

just had a quick healthy crisp sandwich :D i realised that i`d not had anything to eat with all the dashing around so just grabbed the easiest thing.
Just finishing my cuppa now and then it`s back to the ironing mountain.

The shopping has been done, dogs walked, prescription collected and pet shop visited, now i shall be spending the rest of the day inside.

I need to get everything finished no later than 9pm as that is when mum & co are due to arrive to house sit for us whilst we are away and they also look after our cat, the little cat hates visitors and always hides at first which never ceases to amuse mum

I bought some of the little screw tags for both dogs to wear with their temporary holiday address and contact details inside and i put them on yesterday - both dogs have now just got the top half attached to their collars so that was a waste of money:rolleyes: i don`t think that i shall replace them now, both dogs will be with us all the time anyway.

I was very pleased with the shopping as i actually managed to get some YS items :j they`re usually all gone so that was a nice surprise, i managed to force them in the freezer when i got back and i also got a YS curry for dinner tonight too, i usually make one but that will save me a bit of time later.

Smoky - ((((HUGS)))) for you and the little ones.

Pink winged - ((((HUGS)))) for you too.

Ivyleaf - I love Perranporth, you will have a great time there, we always like to walk the houndies on Perranporth beach and plan on visiting there a couple of times next week.

Haribo - Hope that you are ok.

Off to ring mum now whilst doing the rest of the ironing as she`s just texted me.

    Catch up later.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

  • Hi all

Managed to sleep thru the OH coming home from work last night so that was good! And the sun is shining which is lovely. Washing machine is still broken and we are still flushing the loo with buckets of water for now, but hey ho, life is never perfect!:rotfl:

Trying to post a pic here but failing miserably despite great advice from MrsM.. I think my puter just refuses to co-operate on even the simplist tasks!!!

Sammi - so glad the Oh is getting better
Smokey - as others have said, the 6 months will fly by almost without you noticing. Time always seems long when we look forward, but think back over the last 6 months and I bet you are suprised at how fast they went.. *hugs* to you
PennyPincher - hope you feeling better today.
Amie - welcome back to us :D
Sunnyday - have a lovely holiday!
Anniebooklover - hope you enjoy your course though we will miss your posts of course
Pink winged - I can't offer advice but I can give a great big hug
Ivyleaf - Perranporth is a great place to visit, you will really enjoy it

*hugs* to everyone who needs one and congratulations to anyone who is celebrating today.

To be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough.
If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...
Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.

    Afternoon everyone.

((((Hugs)))) for all who need/want them today.

Smokey my best friend went through this four and a half years ago; it will get easier as time goes on, but give yourself time and be kind to yourself.

Had some fun and games at the health centre yesterday; I'd emailed a request for a repeat prescription on 4 items - when I got there, they'd only done 3, the missing one being the one I was in urgent need of, and the 3 they'd done were on 2 separate prescription forms, one of which wasn't signed. They wanted me to come back today, which I couldn't do (Mr LW is in the office today so he has the car) so I threw a minor wobbly til they sorted it out.

I ordered two of those wind-up lanterns (can't remember offhand who posted the link, but thanks anyway) and they arrived this morning. I've tested them, and they're easy to use, even with my poorly paws! So if we do get power cuts, Mr LW and I can sit huddled up in the crocheted blanket his mum made for him years ago, with the lanterns on, and play Talisman (a sort of "sword'n'sorcery" board game).

We shall be going to the farmers market at Woburn on Sunday; I don't like that one as much as Olney (1st Sunday of the month) as the ground they use at Woburn is cobbled - not at all comfortable in a wheelchair. But we need some stuff that wasn't available last time at Olney, so I'll have to put up with it.

Oh well, I've waffled a bit, so I'll shut up now.

    Have a good day all.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Ironings finished, got an empty basket now :T
I've done well today, everything I wanted to do I have done(makes a change)

So I can go and finish some knitting off now, and watch TV for a bit.

I pre-ordered Mama Mia from Amazon last week for 10.98 and I saw earlier it has gone up to 12.98, so I have made a saving on that,;) and because I pre-ordered the new Indiana Jones DVD at the same time, I get free postage when they come in, which is not until November. I dont very often buy DVD's but I know I will watch Mama Mia over and over again....I just LOVED it.
and I will get lots of exercise too..... because I cant stop jigging about to ABBA :rotfl: :rotfl:

    Back later

How much? Postie has just been and I have my new television licence. I've been paying by direct debit for years now and don't take much notice of how much it is these days. I've just looked and it's £139! I can hardly believe it costs that much!

I guess that's why Noel Edmonds has stopped paying for his out of protest.

Gorgeous day on the Lancashire coast today, sunny & warm......pity I don't have anywhere to put a clothes line for my washing! Still only using TD for towels & bedding, everything else goes on airers in spare bedroom. ;)

Having a flexi-day off today, lazy brekkie, then into town - 2 skirts & a shirt in charity shop, followed by 3 sweaters & 3 tank tops in Primark (all for work!) and some bits for DB's 1st baby in January. Think I've just spent my tax rebate! :o

Troo, can I PM you about an order for a card for my brother's fiancee please? Funnily enough, nowhere sells birthday cards saying "For my sister-in-sin"! :D

Goodness knows when OH will be home - was supposed to be yesterday from Brum but he's now in Swindon (poor soul, he's not keen on Swindon, bless him!)....he'll be home before tomorrow lunchtime as he has a ticket for Anfield :p

Right, I am off to cook - I may be sometime..... Whatatwit & Morwenna, you may be able to smell my house in a couple of hours - oxtail stew (for w/e ), braised steak in stout (for tonight ) & stewed plums (for me :D)

    Love & hugs,
    Floss xx

P.S. Pink - I cried when DS1 AND DS2 both went off to uni.......OH had to hustle me away with a hankie whilst slipping them each some food & beer vouchers for Freshers week! :)

LameWolf.... I havent seen the lanterns but I do have 2 wind up torches, which are so useful.
DGD has one by the side of her bed when she comes to stay, so that she can see when she gets up to go to the loo.

Thats an idea for your LO's Smoky you never know might just work :D

mrs_mix I hope your dog is ok x

Diva O what a pain, hope its not long until they are fixed.

    (((Hugs))) to Haribo.

Pippa - if ever you buy something from Amazon then see it at a reduced price with the following 28 days, you can email them and ask for a refund of the difference. I've done that more than once and they are always happy to oblige; they are very quick with refunding, too!

Well, I've done some work so will treat myself to an hour on the sofa with my knitting.

Mrs Mix - hope your little doggie is recovering now. What a shock that must have been.
