Used 2 of the No17 Lippy vouchers today, & had probs with both.

1st one wouldn't scan so told SA that my 'daughter' said they need to be put in manually (could feel myself blushing as I said it as I hate lying, lol). She couldn't do it & told me to go across to the nearby photo counter with it. SA there said "no, this isn't valid & also it's photo-copied". I insisted it was printed not photo-copied, & also it WAS valid as long as I purchased another No17 item. Off she goes to ask supervisor, then comes back & says begrudgingly "Ok, sigh, I will have to overide it & enter manually" And this was without trying the 3 4 1 glitch!

2nd one, different SA says "these are 3 4 2 so why not get another item". Of course the lippy voucher wouldn't work at all with 3 items, which I knew, so I told her not to worry about the 3 4 2 and asked if she would overide the lippy voucher if I just bought it with 1 item. She did this willingly & with a smile. :) What a difference.

Anyway, after all that the outcome was that I got 2 Lippys and 2 reduced single glitter eyeshadows for a total of £3.20, then another 3 reduced single eyeshadows on 3 4 2 for a total of £2.90. So a successful shop in the end, 2 Lippys and 5 eyeshadows for £6.10, a saving of £18.42 :j

I found this pic below of the clinique breast cancer lipstick. This was from a U.S. site, but I suppose it looks the same (it has the exact same name)?

I was a bit annoyed to find that this lipstick is only $14 in the States AND of that price, $10 goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The ones sold here cost £12 (or nearly $22), and yet only £2 (about $3.67) goes to breast cancer charity! It's a bit stingy of Boots, isn't it? (Info about the Boots version of this lipstick is on page 54 of the new mag).

Edit: The U.S. site doesn't mention a carry case, so maybe you don't get that there. I think I'd rather not have the case, pay less overall, and have more than twice as much money go to charity, though!

I was surprised to see one of Americas superstores selling Boots and Jemma Kidd make up when I was last there. If you check out the prices they are cheaper than here!

Question- Off down to Dublin this weekend does anyone know if i can use my advantage card to get poibnts down there or not??
    x

The two times I tried to use my card in the South (Ireland) it was rejected. If you have the older card then it may work but the recent ones don't. I was told by the SA that the two AC systems are different. Also you can't use any coupons or vouchers unless they have specific ROI points on them.

    Hope that helps.
(BTW, the Boots I went to was the HUGE one in Liffy Vally shopping centre)

  • Boots.com isn't working for me now. *sobs*

Do you think they are targetting our ip addresses?

Oh and the s.a was odd/sarky again today (I bought 1 item-no vouchers, no hassle and she wasn't even serving me).

I felt *gestures* this big. I won't say what was said in case she is reading this but I don't feel that I can call c.s as it is such a small Boots and I know her adult daughter (shared friends) and don't want to risk her or her child giving me evils or 'having a go' or whatever if c.s. report back to her, she'll know it's me.

Anyway-I'm travelling 40 mins tomorrow just to visit a different Boots. I will find a nice cosmetic bag, I will buy an eyeliner and get a free lipstick, lol.
