  • Morning Tracy

Have sent you a PM and hope to hear from you soon,

Dalip Good Morning...hope you and OH are keeping well, my OH is snoring his head off and grumbling in his sleep, today we fill in his BR form, one thing about the IVA we never finally went for is that they have listed all the debtors and ref numbers, just need to update the totals:eek: and hes going to have to give me the combination to his wallet:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: ( tighter than a ducks !!! springs to mind :D:D )as he is very very reluctanley going to have to hand over his Credit Ca:eek: rd and put it away in the drawer as we start living frugally in prep for his BR in November and we need to scout out the cheapest monthly ticket to get him to work as the car will be going.

When he goes BR on the 12th November, do we have to stop using the car immediately or can we use it till the OR or Finance Co reposess it.? The tax and insurance is all paid till June 09.
Hes off to his beloved football today, I said enjoy this cause the OR wont allow you a season ticket next year and not in an IPA either.

Right am off to set the smoke alarm off as I cook his brekkie, the smoke alarm is the only thing that wakes him up:D :D:D:D:D:D:D (wicked person that I am) and I will be back on here later, catching up on everyones day.

  • hi Anne if it's any help my mum had to go BR too a year after i did - took 5 MONTHS for finance company to come get car. Seems the older the car the less interested they are, and hers was about 6 years old. dont stop using it. When you do give it back take the tax disc off it you can get a refund for unsued months - and they can't take that with the car. xx

    Hi All

Thanks Marshmallow, so we might be able to keep it till into the New Year, then again with my luck it will go the day we go BR never mind.

Can anyone answer this question as its a HP sale and the payments are bang up to date will the OR be interested in it as the car actually belongs to Finance Co. We cant sell it and clear the finance as the car is actually in what Id call Negative Equity, was worth £9.000 when we bought it 18months ago would be lucky to get £4500 for it, need to check its true
value on one of the car guides.
I dont know why the idea of losing the car is the one that hurts the most, OH needs it to get to work, the equation no car = no work =no
wage = no income = no chance of an IPA but I suppose that doesnt figure in the world of BR and OR Offices.

We could just afford to pay the car each month, along with the tax etc but that would come out of our surplus if there is such a thing in BR.

Would we be able to get some money back from OR for a car of modest means...

Can I hand the car back to the Finance Co now?? and add the debt of the car finance agreement on to our debts...then again we can use the car till Finance Co reposess etc or OR has it.

Also if my b in law has a car registered in his name ( a old but relaible banger) can we use it, and tax insure it from any surplus we might have..

Now the 12th Nov draws closer Im panicking as with a Nil Tax Code the whole of OHs wages will give them a fantastic IPA...he paid £545.40 tax and NI Cont £271.56... am begining to wonder how the hell he got into this mess ( roll out ex wife and her use of his credit cards:mad:   )

His basic wage no O/T is £2524.92 before deductions and with the overtime this month his wages with all deductions is £2616.76p. Thats living at his job everyday 12hrs a day for the last month, so he has now cut his O/T down to the basic hours lets hope he can cope with the big change in income that comes with BR...

I live on £60.50 Income Support a week so he can come down out of cloud 9 and start from basics and work at his debts for 36 months and get the fresh start we all crave with BR...wonder if he will get a BRU slapped on him, that doesnt matter, just facing this mess will be his first step to peace.

This is my Sunday morning rant:D :D:D:D cos I love my boot sales and rummaging round the charity sites, without the car none of this is possible, scuse my selfish moan :rotfl: :rotfl: am gonna have a cuppa coffee and get my caffiene level back up to norm :rotfl: .

Scuse me whinging as this was the first time Ive had REAL access to his financial bits and bobs and it gave me a bloody shock:eek:   , had I known he had that much money each month he would have gone BR a long long time ago.

Time we had the talk of all talks, as the basic lifestyle I live is going to be like a drug rehab course for him, he is in denial....sod that...the red bills are the denial so as always he digs his heels in well no more, Aunty Anne Witterings in charge now:D :D:D:D hes gonna havea rude awakening but not before time, BUT he still is a lovley man cos hes got ME:D :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D I can make a pound go much much further now Im BR:D :D:D

Right will be putting his SOA on here for your perusal and you can have a look and make comments as to what will and will not be allowed.

Havea good Sun morning OH is doing my brekkie ( so hard to train these men :p:p )

    Bye for now

Being bc and umemployed made me realise just how much money we wasted. It really is scary when you look back,so i dont tend to do it often:o .

Done both myself and OH the world of good as we know know that chinese on a sat is a luxury not an essential, that ben sherman shirt is just as good as m&s at half the price,my girls need to learn for themselves about money, going to tesco everyday for odds and sods is ridiculous and so on :rotfl:.

The thing i am looking forward to most is being able to save a little bit even if it's only a fiver. My biggest worry has been if somethng has broken down(like my shower this morn:mad: )and not have that little piece of plastic to replace it with.
Good luck with OH's wake up call anne, knowing you,you will manage it:D dX

  • Hi Shadow & Dalip

Shadow enjoyed my brekkie, then went to OHs daughters church they were having a bring a person to church day...really enjoyed the upbeat sermon on waste, want, greed and poor folk and a discussion on the "real" needs of life versus the consumerism thats all around.
Had my moment praising the virtues of this site MSE as a whole and BR & OStyle Board in particular.

    Dalip hi

Yes I treat things more carefully now that I cannot afford a replacement...OHs journey to BRs going to be hard, hes used to just buying things as he needs them, so meeting me has brought him to a shuddering halt:rolleyes:  :D:D and the BR budgets going to be a good thing for him, and we can both have a more simple basic approach to life, and I think thats how the whole of the UK will be soon, back to basics, as this credit crunch is here for a good while, and maybe basic manners and courtesy might come back too.

Here endeth my sermon for today peeps    :A :A

With the car, there is a small possibility that it wont go.... (Don't tell OH yet though, let him suffer!)

As the car is on HP, the OR has no interest in it because you don't own it (OH I mean), the HP company does. Now, as to whether the HP company will take it will depend on the same number of factors as the OR, so its a bit of an unknown. Some will take the car regardless because there is a clause that says they can. Some still have the clause but depending on arrears, time left to go, value of car etc etc, may allow you to keep the car and carry on paying normally. It may be a week after BR, it may be months - you are justs not going to know until it happens. Until then, use the car as much as you can, then strip it if they take it away - although I think you have to leave seats and the engine.....
