The ultimate incentive to get debt free, can I do it by New Years?

Morning! Last time I made the Hobnobs they were chewy but with more biscuity edges where they were a bit thinner, they do have a lot of sugar in them mind, and margarine... but they do have oats in so they must be good for you on some level!
If you can't be DF by New Year, would Valentine's be doable? Just for the added romance factor?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Ooooh I like the valentines idea. That's work out at about £83 a day to pay off I think.... but then I do like a challenge! I've been working on my romantic side lately as basically I don't have one! Got seriously soppy for OH's birthday a few weeks ago and he loved it.
Sold a game on amazon that OH listed earlier in the week, so that's about £1 acheived today. Also just signed up to a mystery shop for this lunchtime, someone must have cancelled for it to pop up at such short notice, but that will be another £10 in the bank (as ever only take it off my signiture when it hits my account). OH also paid me back for paying for his flights over (he has no bank card to use online) so that's £40 gone straight in the ISA for CC2. Actually *ponders* not all that debt in the signiture is mine. I transfered around £1600 onto my CC2 as it is 0% for my mum. I have a spreadsheet to keep track of it. She has said she will ask my grandad to take out a 0% card in march when mine ends to bounce the debt to, and there has never been any question that it is her debt not mine. Do you think I should keep this in my sig as it is in my name, or take it out since I have no intention of actually paying this part?!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I would wait until your mum has actually done the 0% balance transfer then you know definatly it is not attached to your name if you see what i mean?!
Sounds like your doing great though.
And the new valentines day goal is a lovely idea, i hope you manage it!!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Thanks for the advice, but I won't manage it by valentine's if I'm counting mums debt, as she won't take this off my name until the end of March. Grrr kind of annoys me to be honest, was told I would get a payment a month to clear it from her, and it's still all sat there in my name because she can't get credit. I understand things are very tight for them, but I thought when I offered I wouldn't be stuck with this and I just wanted to help out as she was paying a barmy interest rate.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Maybe you could take the amount off your total but keep it in your sig in brackets, so you know what YOU'RE aiming for, but don't forget that it's there?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Won't forget it's there. My CC2 balance isn't actually going down at all as I am putting the money to pay it off into an ISA, but I subtract the money from my total as otherwise I find it too demoralising. Plus I have my spreadsheet. I just came to the realisation that this isn't my money to pay off, so I'm going to be dancing about saying i'm debt free, and you're going to all be very polite and point out there is still nearly £2k in my signiture!
Only 3 things sold of my 10 on ebay last night, and only one of those has actually paid. Will have made about £5 after ebay and paypal fees and postage. Going to parcel them up tonight and send them off tomorrow along with the game and 2 books that have sold.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thank Crunchie it's Friday! How is everyone today?
£77 transfered into the ISA today, and it's not yet 11am. £10 came through from a mystery shop, and then I have been saving up my petrol claims for the last 3 months from work so I get used to not having them as it's about to drop hugely in April. I put it in this month though as the form had no more space on, but I have put it straight onto the ISA which was rounded up to £67.
Have also repaid £200 off the family loan as I do this every 25th.
Think I have got OH into all my wicked little ways of money making, he applied last night to a few of the mystery shopping companies who also opperate in Ireland until he can get a full-time proper job as it just means he would have a few pennies coming in, and a couple of them specifically said they wanted males under 33 in his area. :T
Gotta go and post the 2 books, the game and the dress I sold the last few days at lunchtime. Have sent OH a message asking if he would like to go out tonight, as we haven't been anywhere since last weekend, and I'm always in a really good mood friday nights as it's the longest point of the week until I have to be back in work!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
