NIM sounds like a busy bee! You'll settle into a routine soon, like when OH started at Ladbrokes he was working 9-10 most days, was horrible feeling like we had to 'fit' each other in with day-to-day work, but then not wanting to turn down overtime just incase one day it isn't there. It's difficult but you have to roll with the punches really, horrible as it is.

Jimmy Carr is in Harrogate Saturday, I don't know how close that is to your though or if you even like him! He's in Doncaster tomorrow but I can't see him because I'm off to see Ross Noble, will have to 'treat' myself to tickets for next month!

Oooh, I've just noticed I've got over 1000 posts now! Hmmm, this is a sign of someone without enough work! I hope my boss never sees this! LOL!

I'm sure I've only ever paid £8 per ticket but they seem to be letting you reserve seats now so it's gone up?

Jimmy Carr was in Middlesbrough on my birthday this year, I mentioned it to OH hoping he might 'surprise' me with tickets but he didn't! I'll have to hint more heavily next time!

Poor old NIM, sounds like a tiring way to do a normal amount of hours. I never understand people who say they hate 9-5, I think it's brilliant, now if only I could be part time...

Yeah there is no way I would prefer shifts to 9-5. I do think thats one thing my work got right. 37 core hours a week, can be taken between 8-6 daily, must do 5 days a week except allowed 1 flexi day a month if we've built up enough hours. Working 9-5 means I can plan things in advance.

Worst part is on these crazy hours he's doing we'd still only get halfway to our house deposit total in the two years. If he got the other job hes going for next thursday we'd only need to reach the £10 a day challenge as well and we'd meet the £40k in 2 years target. But daft as this sounds, I don't really want him to get it, he likes the farm too much! ARGH stupid money!

I know it's the root of all evil!

My work are really relaxed with flexi and so on, although I don't think we'd be allowed to work 4 12-hour days every week! But we can take a few days flexi a month if we have it stored and can stay til after 6 (if we have to!)

We don't have flexi but we can take odd hours back if we work overtime etc. I think that's more down to my manager being very relaxed than a company policy though! Would love to work somewhere with flexi time!
Poor NIM's work choices seem to be a nightmare, maybe he'll have to opt for the promotion at the call centre for now, beggars can't be choosers and all that! I'm sure there will be jobs around in a few months that are both enjoyable and well paid!

Hes determined to take it if he is offered it, I just love seeing how happy it makes him, although he does keep getting headaches from the sun!

Cant believe you will be officially debt free tomorrow Dinah! You have cleared it all so quickly!
NIM certainly does sound like hes very busy!! How does he keep track of where hes supposed to be on what days?! Its just typical really that the job he really enjoys is lower paid - money is the root of all evil!!

Erm he seems on top of it, but my boss actually pulled me up this morning on the ammount of 'non work' things written in my diary. If I had two diaries I would be utterly lost! I have code for MS either of us are doing, which work he is in and what times, and so on.

I don't see what the problem is if you've got non-work things written in your work diary, as long as you're at work it doesn't matter what is happening outside of it! It's all about balance isn't it? I don't like these folk that think that a job is the be all and end all and nothing else matters!
