You could always leave the family business? :o

Shh, but once I have enough money saved (when I'm about 27, I hope!) I want to take all my pennies, move to a seasidey town and open a cake shop! I've even gone as far as planning to go to the glass factory in France where they make pyrex - you can get pretty printed plates for a euro that would cost £3 here :o I've got a scrap book devoted to it.

There is a shop in town called the Pantry - it's like a mini Lakeland or something. I'd love to have a weekend job there (think - staff discount!)

Birdie, I've heard there's a place in Newcastle called Starters n Puds which I keep meaning to try: http://www.startersandpuds.co.uk/home I guess it's a bit like tapas.

Cinny you could get a Saturday job in Topshop, you'd get a massive discount on their clothes because you have to wear them for work ;)

Brill news about the PPI Poddle, maybe it's your lucky day after all?!

BUT... I was going to say this a minute ago but I got distracted by food... remember I said I was going to try to reclaim the PPI on my Egg loan? Well, I sent the first template letter back last week and had standard reply saying they would look into my complaint. Then when I looked at my loan account online today (as payment comes out on 1st) the balance had been reduced by £1,665.32!:j Obviously I'd rather have cash in hand but definitely not complaining!

What a result! :j :j :j That'll make a big difference to your total!

Oooh, so going to Newcastle soon to check out that place!

Cinny, it sounds like you have it all sorted, but you should seriously think about getting more money coming in, it'll make your dream all the more accessible! I know money doesn't make the world go round but if you've got cake shop dreams it'll help you get there! I want to see your cake shop scrapbook!

Or in Monsoon! I think you get 75% discount on everything (including Accessorize) for the same reason. You could always ebay stuff... Naughty!

Ohh, I don't think I'm topshop material, I feel completely out of place there, even when I'm wearing topshop!

That's great news on the Egg card Poddle! :T

Yep, I used to work in Accessorize and can confirm it's 75% off all jewellery and clothes, then something like 60% off bags and hats and scarves and things, because you wouldn't really wear those on the shop floor. Unfortunately I was but a mere temp so did not get the discount :(

I know what you mean, I always get a funny panicky breathing funnily feeling in Topshop, I think it's chronic 'Not cool enough to be in here-itis'!

Gosh, 75% off Monsoon/Accessorize? I might have to get me a job there!
