What's 10% of your house? The downstairs loo or something? Hehe!
Thanks for that, I know not to withdraw it myself don't worry!! I'm still a bit confused though as to what counts towards each year's allowance, can you move your balance then still add £3600? I know the one I have wasn't an introductory rate offer so it's fixed in that sense, but I think it might be tied in with the BoE's base rate so may have gone down ... ? It is a two-year cash ISA btw, don't really understand shares enough to dabble!!!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Oooh, it's all happening in my office today! We all got put 'at risk' on Monday and today one of the girls has put in for voluntary redundancy, to leave on Friday so she can spend a month in the French Alps working on a ski resort! It's a small team (8 of us) so it's pretty exciting that a) there's only 1 person left to leave said team as they wanted rid of 2 of us and b) someone is actually brave enough to sod off to France for a month! She's no spring chicken either but she hasn't got kids to keep her here and her boyfriend may be going out to join her if work dries up for him.
I've been comissioned to make her leaving card so this afternoon shall be spent doing that... it is for work after all!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Thats good news Birdie. Really chuffed for you, and good on that woman having the guts to follow her dreams and jack in the 9-5 (hating work this week!).
You can finish paying up to the £3600 even if you move it Tete, if that's what you are asking? Minimum you have in there from this years allowance is £3400 though if you filled it last year, so not actually much left to fill! If it's a 2 year ISA you might have been lucky enough to get a fixed rate if its fixed termDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Ooh, all this talk of ISAs reminds me I can apply for the one I have my eye on tomorrow :j Would only be putting about £100 in it a month but that's still £1200 where the tax man can't get at it.
Tete - I don't think my will power is that strong, is an idea to mull over though!
That's great news Birdie! What made her pick the French Alps though?! Have fun making the card.0 -
I'm curious, why can you only apply for it tomorrow Cinny?Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

*facepalm* so stupid ofc!
Well NIM has been refused for First Direct, I haven't got a letter yet but I bet I will be too. I'm really quite angry, this will be because of the Alliance & Leicester. Going to write to them today and express my disgust at the situation they have now put me in.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I have to be over 18 for it, well atleast I think I do! Unless I've muddled it up with another ISA I was looking at, still, I'd rather wait to be on the safe side. I need to go about getting a cheque book sorted too, along with my overdraft on Friday. Yikes! I dislike going into banks to deposit cheques, nevermind asking for stuff!0

I know you have to be over 16 to get an ISA, not sure if its over 18 too, but for a day its no harm to wait! Which one are you going with? (Please don't just go with the one with the bank, some are at 0.1% interest!)Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I was looking at the Abbey Direct ISA, 2.5% AER Have all my leaflets at home so I'll be having a proper read through them tonight. I'm one of those people who stays with the same bank for everything, but thankfully this ISA is the best rate I've found.0
