And with a bit of luck you'll be DF before the big day!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Aye that's a good way to do it, time to enjoy being engaged, having time to save up the money, and work out exactly what you want your day to be.
I think we'll have many differences of opinion but I suppose 2 years is long enough to convince him that my way is the best way! LOL!
I want something very simple and MSE whereas he's got bigger ideas, I'm not sure where he thinks we're getting the money from though! :money:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -

I hope so! We're planning to be DF before my 25th birthday (next May!), this is a real incentive to work on it!:jOvercome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Lol. Does he work shifts at all? If so point out how many extra shifts it would take to pay for it without getting into more debt and undoing all the good work....
Personally I think simple sounds 100x nicer than a big fancy, and ultimately forgettable do. I'd love just like a marquee in the garden, a bit of a dance floor and then just a buffet or something relaxed. No speeches, no formality, just a big party where I happen to be wearing the best frock there! My colleague has booked breakdancers for her wedding, despite the fact neither of them have ever had an interest before, seems crazy to me!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Been helping a colleague look for a holiday for her honeymoon in June, managed to find a dirt cheap week in venice for our anniversary. This is why I should be debt free, if I was, we could have booked it! Still, very happy to be going to see the camels, and if we manage to fill the ISAs still might be able to go just will get extremely late availability!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hey Congrats Birdie!!!
Very cool, what lovely news. I hope you're not too unwell, and still enjoying the excitement.
LOL @ Breakdancers??!! That's weird . . .
Today is ok. Had a slight huff with OH last night. STILL working on proposal, no money for March. A few worries creeping in.
I agree on chupa chups - that's amazing Cinny!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -

Big hugs Lara, sorry things are a bit rough at the moment. We're always here to talk or be a sounding board if you need one.
Re the proposal, often it's better to give them space in their own time, when NIM proposed in November and I mucked it up it put a whole load of pressure on us to do it right, and we bickered, now that that's all blown over we're so much happier, and I think we're a lot better off without! Just focus on why you love one another for a while, and making one another happy, and it may well come naturally to him.
Personal perspective would be that too many cooks spoil the broth, should just be the guy involved in the decision, if NIM tries to involve me if there is a next time I'm going to book a flight to Vegas and tell him that that is his punishment - he'll have soooo much fun telling his uber Catholic family he was married by Elvis!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Somehow I managed to read poddle's sig as yours! You have far left to go?
There's about £5k to go thanks to a car loan I took out a few years ago when someone should have warned me against credit! And the credit cards... Anyhoo, it's going in the right direction, you're my inspiration!
Sadly OH can't get any extra shifts as the company we work for is pretty strict with overtime but he's looking at changing jobs so lets hope he can get more work, I suppose I should aim for the same!
I have a feeling our wedding will end up being a simple do at a registry office and a big party with a curry buffet! I hate the idea of paying £60 a head for reatives I never see to eat eat food they won't appreciate and talk about how I shouldn't be wearing white behind my back!
