  • Mind you Cinny, when my friend was planning her wedding she said the sit down meal was £50 per head!!! And that was four years ago, it's enough to make you elope to Gretna Green.

You're young Cinny, you'll see people turn into these meringue chasing looneys in a few years! I'd spend my whole day thinking about all the money I'd spent, that would have paid 3 years mortgage payments, and coupled with the fact I'd be convinced they'd all be stood there pointing going' Really, she's wearing white?! Whose she kidding?!' I'd just be miserable.

LMAO! Ah okay, we're away 4 days, 3 nights. Nice little break.

My collegue is spending 9k on her venue, for a meal for 65 and dancing after for a few more. On a Thursday. In April. It's staggering.

Ha! That's just reminded me of a dream I had at the weekend where I turned up to my wedding in this red silk thing, having not done my hair or makeup, OH was there in some sort of Asda suit and I was thinking 'eek, really should have made more of an effort for my wedding day and why did I pick red - everyone will think I'm a hussy!' Bit strange!

And the prices mean eveyone's now having weddings on Thursdays so guests have to take two days' holiday, possibly three depending where it is, on top of the fancy dress hen night to Malaga and the present and the new dress...

The accountant in our office was looking at weddings in Flordia something like 17,000 for weekends including friday or 3,000 for a weekday wedding with less than 18 guests. I don't think I could even spend £3,000 on my own wedding in total.

No I'm the same. It'd have to be cheap, but a weekend, I think it's a bit presumptuous that people have nothing better to do with their holiday than watch me take part in an archaic ritual. I have to hope OH doesn't want to get married again as he's catholic and I'm CoE and I don't think I could keep a straight face playing simon says with a man in a frock waving incense about.

    Hey Ladies

Had one of those days today. Travelled an hour to my old college library, spent another hour getting registered and getting my card, only to find that I am only allowed to borrow certain books! So they I had to give all the books back, cancel the membership and go back into town to the other library. Arrr. Then I lost my travelcard so have managed to spend £7.60 on travel in London today.

Yes I must agree on the wedding front, I have had the whole bridesmaid, forced you've been tango'ed fake tan, hen weekend (not even) in Malaga but in this Brits Abroad resort two hour's drive away. My friend's sister had asked some people along and they spent the whole time cheating on their husbands and telling everyone about how they were overclaiming on benefits!

My friend is lovely, and the wedding was great but it was very involved. I think I would like to have something really simple, (and cheap obviously) where not that much can go wrong. I must admit to being a slight wedding - chaser, but OH and I will have been together 5 years in March which I think is an age.

On the upside I have got a days' work from my old boss tomorrow, and I am going to Stoke On Trent for the first time ever, so I am quite excited.

Hey Tete I found you on dooyoo ...

    Have a good eve x
