Morning all. Doctor signed me off for a week.I have more steriods, and a steriod inhaler, and I have to go for a chest x-ray at 3.30. I'm feeling very miserable and I want to go back to work.

New laptop came today and it's too big - webpages just arent this wide. Should have got the 15" and saved £100.

Hi Dinah, sorry to hear that you're still unwell, at least you can start on clearing down your 'to read' pile! I'm also sorry that you're not too happy with the laptop, maybe you can play with the settings on it to make it better? Although mine is a widescreen and when I play the sims they look really fat when I'm zoomed in because it is so stretched!

Back to an earlier convo; I really want an e-reader, but I'm not sure if it could replace books, I love them; the smell, the feel, the pretty colours on the bookcase, I'll always have my favourites on a bookcase, with copies on the e-reader just in case! That is if OH will get me one! At the moment every time I think I'll get one something else pops up and I can't justify the cost, maybe if I give it 6 months they'll be cheaper... I hope so!

And I'm sorry that your plans for the laptop have been scuppered Cinny! If he's easily pleased you might as well just buy him a little gadget to go with the laptop and spent the rest of the money on yourself! Or put it towrds your big savings target!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Oh I'm pleased with the laptop, I'm just being pouty. Seems so large, really didn't need it this big! Guess in some things smaller is better. But on the plus side the graphics are intense, which is what I really wanted. Although STP doesn't seem to work on it, can't log in....

I've never really wanted a e-reader, I'm another one who loves the physical book, the smell, the feel, seeing them on the book case. Whole pleasure zone in bound and glued word.

Oh dear, Dinah. I thought you were on the mend too! Do they give out lollipops to grown ups at the hospital? If not I'd demand one. Hopefully the new course of steriods will do the trick.

As for the laptop, I know what you mean about widescreens! They seem completely wrong but I'm sure you'll get used to it with time.

I'm completely baffled about what to get him now! Still, I've got a few months to do alot of thinking in. He'll find something else he wants. I'm going to try and not spend the £100 on pretty dresses (got my eye on some on evil-bay!) and wait until my savings account is open and move it right over. Sent of the forms to open it today, finally!

Keep some cash in the house. If you are thinking of spending online take out £30 or whatever and see if you still want to spend it. Unless of course the dresses are being sold by a seller called centauri93, then you know you want to buy them :D

Another 7 days off work, I'm going to go mad and set myself up a little office here so I have something to do! No, I'm not, I will be productive and I will order some bits to start making some invitations to see how those go down online, and I will list at least 100 things on ebay by Friday.

More than anything I'm gutted as it means I can't go and see OH this weekend so won't see him until my birthday which is the 1st!

Surprisingly one skirt is! And I'm guessing that's you? I'm also desperately trying to find a black miss selfridge dress I had my eye on before christmas, can't find it anywhere! I have made a polite watch list on my mothers ebay account and informed her it's a certain someones birthday in a few months.

Couldn't he come over and see you this weekend? At least you wont miss seeing him on your birthday!

Lol that was a joke but yes that's my account Cinny! I tried politely saying there was a dress I wanted for my birthday, but apparently my birthday is taken care of

He's not allowed over here in January as the two boys have A-level exams, and can't risk being disturbed, which is fair enough.

  • Dinah I'm sorry to hear you are sick, honey. Hopefully a week away from the office will have you feeling better and re-invigorated. That sucks big time about missing out on seeing OH.

Do you mind if I ask which MS companies you use? I am with Grass Roots and Retail Eyes but wondered if any others are worth signing up with?

    Thanks, GISI x
