Had a quick look at the NHS Change4 life link and am afraid I ran away as soon as they started talking about swapping drinks for sugar-free drinks (I hate sugar-free drinks with a vengeance, especially for chidlren - unless someone is diabetic). I can see what they're trying to do, but I just find the scheme so patronising.
I'm sure it's all done with the best of intentions though.
I don't like sugar free drinks either. I find it annoying in Tesco where they have umpteen flavours of squash in sugar-free, but only orange or blackcurrent with sugar in.
I only put a splash in, so it's more like flavoured water, but one of my sons friends said I was stingy with the squashHere I go again on my own....0 -

Ladies - Have any of you used a floating bath support thingy like this? http://www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk/detailfash.php?type=FASH&code=A7152&branch=&category
Just mulling over if it would make it easier than using the baby bath which I always hated0 -
thanks ladies i think the lack of sleep is getting to me and its not erin waking me up but me waking me up and not being able to get back to sleep? typical eh!
we went out to the woods and then to the animal park/pet shop and they had a baby pig think he may have been for sale and i fell in love lol! his little tail wagged and he got all excited when you talked to him! i would have taken him home in a sec lol! am planning on tea and a very early night for eveyone, hopefully ill get a few hours unbroken sleep.
i put very little squash in kids juice and they dont mind they love fresh apple/orange juice, i dont drink tea/coffee so experiment with all the juices fav at the moment is fruit and barley! What's for you won't go past you0 -

Ooh caz I had that one last time and I loved it, but someone borrowed it and never returned it.
I've got this one this time http://www.safetots.co.uk/Baby-Baths-and-Bath-Supports/618-281.htm on the plus side with it being a bit like a little chair I can also use it to put Ello in when I go to the loo, so I don't have to try and do my jeans up one handed!MFW Start Sep 07 £79484, Now £587740 -

and its brilliant - Oz lay in it for ages and ages kicking his feet all relaxed and so much easier than either a baby bath or holding him in the big bath (which wrecks my back).
can't believe how busy everyones been chatting the last couple of days!! took me ages to read everything.
i'm another one for breastfeeding lying down - but it just comes naturally i didnt bother with any guides or instructions, I just lay down with baby and shuffled him closer to me and off he went and then he would fall asleep and i would have a little nap.
went to my first mother and toddler group today in the local church. kept oz awake past nap time to go and he had great fun. i on the other hand did not really! a lot of the mums were not my type of people, though i did get chatting to a few who seemed all right. i'll try it again next week and if i decide i dont like it apparently there are 3 more in the vicinity (all on the same day ).DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

I went to a toddler group a few weeks ago and was speaking to another woman who had a toddler and was pregnant, due a month before I'm due. She leaned over and said "I just don't think I will love this baby as much as my first." I didn't know what to say to that. And another mum whose son was taking toys away from every child that went by and she was saying "oh look, isn't he lovely, he's sharing." Um, okay. And that was the highlight. I need to find another group.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

I can't believe how many posts I've just read and I've only not been on for a day...Hope everyone has enjoyed the sun today...I took my LO up our allotment to see to the chickens and water the seedlings and ended up tying a muslin to his head as he will NOT tolerate a hat. Needless to say he wasn't a happy bunny with that and protested for the hour we were there (had to leave as it was too HOT...:j.
feelinggood I hope the bf is going well - I mixed fed/ fully ff (as lo had a terrible cold and stopped feeding properly)/ then went back to fully bf so I'd imagine one expressed bottle wont do too much harm - I had the big pump like you get from the hospital to try and keep my milk going and it was a godsend but I have to admit after three months of it I was more than glad to see the back of it.
To be honest my life was completely dominated by feeding in the early days but I'd do it all again (if oh would let me) nothing beats those middle of the night feeds for togetherness...I'm still bfing now and oh has given up with the comments (even bfing mums get it ....in fact I never got half so much interest when I ff ds1).
I plan to give up at 2 but thats a flexible plan...:D.
I could never get to grips with feeding lying down when LO was new but we do it all the time now ...I saw a fab video of a newborn baby crawling to the nipple (I think youcan access it through la leche)and I thought well if s/he can do it so can me and my boy and so I gave it another go and tbh it hurt my nipples like crazy BUT did get me an extra half hours sleep and since to me sleep is sacrosant I chose that and made free with the lanisoh :rotfl:.
Just wanted to say also that I think there are some good bfing vids on you tube if you are interested - I don;t know about anyone else but from my point of view the fact that I'd never SEEN it in action did leave me a bit clueless as to how it all works so I ended up doing lots of internet research to support my view that I could do it.
The most interesting fact I found out that contradicted what most people had told me is that your breasts don't contain all the milk you give in one feed - they actually make milk while you are feeding. It's facinating stuff when you get into it....
umm getting boring now aren't I....the things you do while avoiding the housework (washing up beckons)...
