  • Yep, stairs with gaps, and ones with big drops next to them. And escalators in shopping centres, where they go across the big atrium and you can see all the way down to the bottom !

    hi to all,
beautifull sunny day, so far so good then all went wrong!!
i was shopping with my 2 children this afternoon at a big supermarket this afternoon, whilst instore an employee ran over my daughters foot with one of those big stacking trollies.
she just kept on going, i called for the manager, he came called first aid, they saw here and checked out her foot.
you could see on the boot the marks the trolley had left!
her big toe has swollen to double the size, so waiting till oh gets home so i can go to a&e!
the manager said, accidents happen, not concerned at all.
the girl who had done the damage came in to the first aid room and appoligised, well sort of.
i asked for the incident/accident form, and they would not give me a copy.
any advice please, feel so fustrated that they were so uninterested!!!!
    many thanks x:mad:

if you wanted to, you could sue. go see a solicitor. it was negligence and you would have a good case - couldn't lose.

i would definitely be calling head office and complaining, not only that it happened but also about the shoddy response you got afterwards, especially from the manager,
its bad but the employee probably wasnt sure if she should say sorry or not, if you say sorry you are accepting blame and by doing that the shop/individual can be sued.
    go kick up a fuss!
  • babies falling downstairs and being run over by shopping trolleys  I will never sleep!

    Hope everyone is okay.

I'm off to docs in an hour - the doc I am seeing is a pig but is the only one I could get in to see so I am stressing already.

MIL is coming to look after Benjamin - she hasn't seen him for 2 weeks because she has been in Goa, can't wait to see her face when she sees him, he has changed so much!!

Benjamin doesn't seem to like kiddies songs so far but likes 'for he's a jolly good fellow (baby)' and other wierd and wonderful things...have just set myself a-blubbing singing 'you are so beautiful' to him :o:rotfl:

He's fast asleep now and I want to feed him before I go out - typical!

Oh my goodness its not even 6.30pm and Oz is in bed already!! We were visiting an old friend of mine today and Oz was very good - he played with my friends daughter (shes 5) for over 2 hours and not a word from him, then he had a 30 min nap on the way home but he's been knackered ever since so i bathed him and put him down and he's gone quiet so hopefully he's going to go to sleep. Wee pet!

Someone was asking about when to put baby on a swing a wee while ago - well last week was the first time Oz was on a swing and it was really quite wide but he was very good and knew to hang on tight! - otherwise he would have been sliding front and back - are all baby swings that big?!

I have no other news - all is quiet with us, Oz seemed to (touch wood) recover quite quickly from the croup (i like to think thats cos I'm breast feeding him - i need some incentive to keep going at over 10 months!!).

Speaking of pictures with grannies somewhere above - i really should get a picture of Oz with his great granny (shes 86), he also has a great granda hes 89 but lives in Yorkshire so we never see him. I only had 1 nanny and granda growing up but Oz has Nanny and Granda, Nanna and her husband, Granda and his OH, a great Granny and a Great Granda - he's a lucky little boy!

Waggy - I used to work at a supermarket head office. Put in writing what happened and why you are not happy. Was it the lack of apology from the person, or the incident not being treated seriously? Take some photos of LO's foot as the bruise appears so you have a record of the injury.

It's difficult to say whether it was an accident or negligence without having been there and the store may try to claim you didn't have your LOs under control/they were misbehaving. Be very clear in your letter about exactly what happened. What was LO doing, how far away from you were they? Was the person pushing the cage talking to someone else? What exactly did the manager say? Head office will need to assess whether it was a genuine accident or whether procedures need reviewing to stop a repeat.

I know it's really upsetting when your child gets injured, but try to be ojective about it. You'll get a better response. It would also be good to say what you think they should have done differently. Probably you'll get a letter of apology and perhaps some gift vouchers - depends what supermarket it was.

Would love to post more but tea is nearly ready (yumm, pizza & garlic bread!). Off to my bro's for Easter. They live on a farm so Imogen will be delighted with all the animals and might even get a ride on SIL's Shetland Pony!! Have a great Easter all :easter:

Another flying visit (wish i could follow this thread but i just dont have the time) for some advice please.......

Does anybody here have a caravan? I cant seem to find a caravan type board and as its more baby related thought i would ask you guys!

Natasha is 14 months old now and although she has been walking about 8 weeks and is quite a confident walker (and runner) she is still in her cotbed. Anyway we have just bought a caravan and im trying to figure out how to 'contain' her in bed. A travel cot wouldnt fit and would probably be too small for her anyway......any idea's???

Ahh this is a hard one and the reason Chris is only going in Grandma's caravan this year for the first time! her's has a fold out bunk bed but the rail is only about a foot high and we just couldn't decide what to do and in the end Chris decided for us :rotfl:We've just had to take the sides off his cotbed because he kept climbing out so when he goes he'll have been sleeping in a 'normal' bed for about 3 or 4 months before he goes, so sorry to have been of no use what so ever there:p

Lu - I hope Imogen gets to ride the pony, Chris has had a few little strolls on the little pony that lives on the field nr my mums and he loved it, I want to get him horse ridding lessons when he's a bit bigger (tho not sure if I'd be creating a rather expensive hobby for him there!!? and I don't even like horses!:rotfl:)
