Anyone recommend a good baby car seat. I know I should ask on the pregnancy club but I just can't keep up with the pages to see if there's a reply! Do I remember someone saying they had a Which? subscription?

The priorities are to fit in my Fiesta and OH's Focus, plus be light to carry and have no base. Any ideas?

Oh, and I've developed varicose veins in my calf - hurrah! I love being pregnant!

Imogen's just appeared and demanded that I "turn around and talk to me"!! Sounds familiar.

Nad, hope you had another good night? I'm just working out what we do with Imogen tonight because of the clock change. Will probably keep her up and extra 30-45mins as she's currently getting up anywhere from 6am to 6.30am, which is a bit early TBH

well last night we ended up in A&E. Oz woke at 10pm barking like a dog, and struggled to get a breath. I rang out of hours doctor and they listened to him, told me it sounded like whooping cough and said he needed to go straight in, they were going to send an ambulance, but we're only 15 mins away and OH was with me so we drove. By the time we got there he settled quite a bit and when they checked him everything seemed normal - they said it was croup. Got home at 3am Oz woke at 6am, slept for 2 1/2 hrs this morning and 2hrs this aft. Seems a bit better today but VERY grouchy.

I'm putting him down to sleep again at 7pm and hoping the hour change and extra sleeps today wont effect him too much.

Here I go again on my own....
  • ooo - I like the pace of this thread, I have a chance of keeping up!

nad - hope oz is okay.

becles - thanks again for the heads up on the brain scan, it was just like you said, a little jelly on benjamin's head and a tiny version of the ultrasound scanning head.

mel - congrats on being discharged, my mw is hanging onto me at the moment, although I am not sure why, she seems very happy with both of us and has been talking to me about being a breastfeeding advocate... Benjamin was 9lb on Friday so birth weight + 2oz :T

Lu tu - which baby car seat recommendation is the maxi-cosi with the isofix base but it ain't cheap.

thats the one I have too - although if you don't want the base you can use it with just seatbelts.

It does go in with seatbelts, and there is a base that goes in the car with seatbelts too - I'm just not sure if it is still top of the which ratings without the isofix base.

Lu, I've got a Fiesta, when I was pregnant which said the safest non-isofix rear facing was the mothercare meteor. But obviously that might have changed!

Lwcus, while you're looking would you mind looking for one for me too please? Stage one 9kg/20lb to 18kg/40lb (nine months to four years). 03 Ford Fiesta, no isofix points. If you haven't got time, or it's hard to find don't worry about it :-) Thanks :-)

I hope oz feels better soon nad, my friends little boy has had croup a few times, steam really helps

    Lwcus, growth spurt sympathy

Nad, I hope Oz is feeling better! Aimee had croup a couple of years ago... It was the mifddle of the night, just me and her and she couldn't breath properly... I was absolutely bricking it! She got over the initial croup really quickly then had a barking cough for about 2 weeks after that slowly got better...

MFD, my breastfeeding tutor does some courses in Wolves... You might come across her eventually lol...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Wonder if that applies to teachers?
Choc you could be in luck :D
We went to mum's for tea (trying to save money at the mo so eating everyone else's food ;)) she said the conjunctivitis rule applies to teachers too :T
The actual rule at her school is that no one with it can come to school until they have completed 48hrs of treatment:cool:

Well as I have just said I went to mum's for tea, Mum came with us yesterday for a private 2d scan of my bump. I found out the sex - :male: only my OH and MSE'rs know I know the sex, OH doesn't know which it is tho!
Couldn't get any good pics as he was all curled up in a really tight ball and wouldn't wake up for anyone  so we're going back this Saturday to try for some better pics and Mum asked tonight if she could get some 3D ones done if she paid for them. I'm sure she is trying to punish me :rotfl:
I have said its ok but was a bit on the spot and thinking about it I don't mind but I'm gonna tell her she can't show anyone other than Dad until after bubs is here - I don't want everyone knowing what my baby looks like before I do!! I know it will drive me insane knowing she has the pic tho :p
well I've completely forgotten where I was going with that so there you go:confused:
Hope everyone is well and Nad & Oz get plenty of sleep tonight :D
