There is no reason why a simple retail discount wouldn't work.

I used to have a Disovery that ran on LPG. In the Midlands, West and South West there is a network of LPG filling stations run by Countrywide Farmers - http://www.countrywidefarmers.co.uk/energy/autogas.htm You can buy from their sites at retail prices but you can also sign up as an individual, for their fuel account. Then, depending on how much fuel you use, you get all your fuel regardless of where you fill up at one fixed price which offers quite a discount from the retail price. Countrywide were a joy to deal with and I only stopped because I sold the Discovery. If anyone knows of an LPG conversion for a BMW motorcycle then I'd love to do business with Countrywide Farmers again!

Linking this back to the Pipeline card, the retailer offered me a discount because of the quantity of fuel that I bought for just one vehicle. Multiply that by 100,000 vehicles and I can easily see that some petrol retailers will find the proposition of a loyal customer base attractive and therefore be prepared to offer a discount.

For a 100% way to get 5% off already low supermarket ( sainsburys) petrol simply buy £100 of vouchers for £95. Available online and free postage.

I sometimes buy the vouchers ( when I can be bothered) , also available for argos , woolworths etc. I should really buy them more cos I spend £100 a week on fuel and shopping so would save £250 every year at least.

Looks like they have changed things - Nothing off until you order £500 of vouchers and 5% off for over £5,000 spend!
Shame as I would have done this !

Hope they will develop this card really soon since prices are expected to go throught the roof again next week. After all the fuss in Nigeria, Iran and now Bin Laden on the scene again, I fear that we will soon be paying +1 pound/litre. Imagine the people in Nigeria blowing up some oil refineries, Osama sending another few planes in buildings and Iran closing the pipes all together at the same time.

But who have we got to thank for this? George W. Bush. He's an oilman. What the hell does he care that we will soon be paying +1 pound. Why did he invade Iraq? To get the oil. Why can't Iran have an nuclear program while the States have the most nuclear wapons in the world? Simple. By threatening them, oil prices will rise and gets more in his pocket through his oil friends.

Imagine the narrow-minded non-thinkers that post on this forum... :rotfl:
