I've been doing competitions my whole flipping life (well since I was about fifteen anyway) and I've never, ever won a single thing. I'm amazed to hear people talking about so many wins!
I'd love to know where I'm going wrong....0 -
Thank you all for the great tips. I have only been comping for a couple of weeks and am completely hooked. No wins as yet but I am having fun which is the most important thing (and a holiday would be nice:))August: Pedigree dog hamper win0

Check your emails regularly; I had an email today about a last minute comp that ends today and now I am the lucky winner of a night out tomorrow going to a film premiere and then the after show party.0

I agree with what everone has already said, I try to comp for 2 hours MIN per night, I have been comping since July and have consistantly won 2/3 prizes every month since.. still waiting for the biggie though lol!
My tips would be
1. Roboform - its a must
2. Restrict entering to the things you want to win, that way you can enter more of the things you actually want
3. Try and set an amount of time per night to comp, the more you enter the more you win, I try to set a minimum of 2 hours per night but I have been known to comp for longer!!
4.Most importantly enjoy it because even very small wins bring so much pleasure!
5. Remember to press the thanks button so you can keep track of the comps you have entered, if you enter some comps more than once you will be eliminated.2008 - £6,000.00, 2009/10 - Didn't comp
Back and hoping in 2011!Thank you to all posters!0 -
Oh, please do not lose heart,Broke in Wales, I feel like this too sometimes but I have won some things over the years, the wins for me seem to come when I really really need them most, notable a computer just as I returned to study, a camera as I started placements, a chalet break which was no good for me but went to a needy person through the church who had just been diagnosed with a serious illness.
When I get down, it always helps to think, I have good health, a family I love, paid employment and generally, I am really blessed and have so many riches compared to some.
Don't get me wrong, I do think 'It could have been me' but it is always great to hear about other people's good fortune and great when they share. I try lots of comps and always try to have a receipient in mind, sometimes I think 'that prize would be great for the school/church raffle' so I can always find a home for a prize but do not enter everything I see due to time restrictions mainly.
After all, this site would not be possible if people were not willing to share their experiences and knowledge so willingly.
So don't give up hope and take it as a hobby to enjoy.0 -
