10p Energy Saving Bulbs

Options
What's the deal?

From Monday 22 September Morrisons are selling five Philips Genie Low Energy 11 or14 watt bulbs for 50p in store only.

How do I get them at that price?

If you buy them individually they'll cost 39p each, but buy five and they'll only cost 50p for the lot!

When's the offer on till?

The promotion's on in all stores and Morrisons expects to continue it for four weeks although it can't give us an end date at the moment.

Find your nearest store

If you don't know where your nearest store is then use the Morrisons store finder on its website to locate it.

Many thanks to MoneySaver spaceman5 for the top spot. This post has been inserted into the top of the discussion to provide a researched description of the offer.

  • You will probably need to get in quick if you want to buy these as I expect they will go fast at 50p for 5 and stock is probably quite limited

    Not really...:-)

Tesco sold low energy bulbs for just a penny each about six months ago - they flew off the shelves so fast that the deal ended after about 36 hours at my Tesco Extra.

Still managed to get 20, even though four was the limit - found a dozy cashout girl...:-)
  • PS

Even at 39p the bulbs are a great deal.
  • Does anyone know where I can get cheap energy saving bulbs with a small bayonet cap (SBC)? There are lots of ordinary BC, large Edison screw ES and even small Edison screw SBS but for some reason very few SBC. Even Philips told me they don't make them and the only ones I can find are quite expensive.

Yes, I've bought some of these in the past and they are good bulbs. They come on immediately at almost full brightness (much better than some others I have that are dim for about two minutes). I've never had any stop working either. This is a great price - you can't buy filament bulbs this cheap. ;)
