  • Hi, i'm new to the board.........i'm also having problems with this ''Elonex onet+'' and it's driving me up the wall!!!
everything else is ok with it and it's a great little machine, except for connecting to a network, i have tried and tried, i've had mine for a week, sometimes it will connect but then it wont open any web pages, then other times it wont connect at all!! i have a livebox and if i plug the wire from that into it it connects straight away, but i did'nt get it to do that, i wanted to surf the web while not sitting at my PC, i have emailed Elonex about this, but no reply.....now why does'nt that surprise me!!!!
i will email again, i will get this thing working, i wont be beat!!!!!!
  • I too have received an Elonex onet+ and agree it is a total waste of money!.It hasn't worked properly since day 1 of receiving it.I Have followed all the instructions elonex support gave me to download and install recovery system, very time consuming and to no avail!
I have emailed them to arrange collection and a full refund, await there reply(see if there as quick with that as they were to sell me the damn thing!!)
  • Well i have been away for the weekend ...... tried mine again tonight and both are now working and both connected straight to my network !!
One is going to be a Xmas present so will be trying it as often as possible to make sure it is going to still be working by Xmas.

  • Hi everyone! PLEASE don't give up. I've had problems for 5 weeks now, but finally got sorted on Friday. My problem was with the security settings between the laptop and the router. Please check that your router is set to WEP, and NOT WPA. Plusnet have been fabulous and Elonex were great in the end, BUT I had to lose my rag and cry a bit.... I actually got a bloke from Elonex to phone Plusnet and sort it out between them. Then Plusnet phoned me and talked me through all the settings and I am now up and running. It'd be a real shame if you returned your laptops. Good luck
  • Waiting for replacements for my two again, one day they will switch on others days no chance.

  • Hi Wolves, that happens to me sometimes. I have to press the start button 2 or 3 times bevore it'll come on. Elonex have said they'll swap it, but I haven't got the energy to bother with replacements, and then connecting a new one up! if the replacements don't switch on first time, they should do after the 3rd time! Bit of a pain, but you get used to it!
  • Hi Sugarmuffin, If i was keeping them i could live with it but one was going to be a gift and it would be a bit embarrasing putting extra instructions in !
The other was going to be a replacement for my Elonex Eeepc but i have decided i would much rather stick with something i know is reliable.

WEP is very insecure, I wouldn't do anything on that connection that requires transmitting secure data, ie online banking, reading emails, even logging into MSE.
