Against an Elonex RMA number I paid £5 02 to register and return to
Elonex
23 Sherwood RD
Aston Fields Ind Estate
Bromsgrove
B603DR
No one offered prepaid anything and no contact since.
If you are a bit of a techie google a combination of Linux and Elonex. I found boards with advice and the offer of an alternate OS taken from a dutch version. Then I gave up and sent the whole thing back.0 -
I bought 3 for my children, the youngest of whom is disabled and we needed it for her visual learning in school.
After weeks of phoning and emailing Elonex and them promising their Tech Dept will call back. I have now given up and the 3 laptops are unused.
I joined several forums to try and get some help but I am a Mum with no technical knowledge and just wanted my 3 children to be able to use their laptops with me having to get a degree in programming!
I quite honestly do no understand all the technical speak and although I am very grateful for advice given, it's all beyond my understanding.
With all the sales hype re these laptops being aimed at schools I thought that they would be easy to use!
I think that it's now time to expose Elonex for their lack of customer support and after sales care. They must have spent thousands on the sales and marketing hype but nothing on customer care.
It looks like my 3 will end up on ebay and I'll have to save and buy a 'proper' laptop for my disabled daughter ( no she didn't meet the local LA criteria as she could not type with both hands at age 8 with severe learning difficulties ) another campaign here too.
Even the tech guy in here school spent time trying to download programmes for her but he couldn't either!0 -
My only worry about selling on E Bay is that your buyers will be back to you with a lot of problems !WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
Blimey what was that ?
That was your life mate
Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.0 -

Thats the address they gave me but when i questioned postage he said just write 'FREEPOST' on the parcel ! all sounded too dodgy to me and i wasnt prepared to send £200s worth of stuff into their abyss.
Just waiting to see what happens with their promised collection / delivery of replacements now.WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..

I have no tech knowledge so I would not list it with any tech claims of my own, just the item and a link to the Elonex website.
I would be selling three laptops in the same condition as when bought.
The buyer would have to make their own mind up.
Much the same as you do with any item that you bid for on Ebay.
If I don't make any false claims then I can not be held liable for anything that Elonex list can I ?
I just want to recoup enough to at least buy my youngest disabled daughter, a usable laptop for school.0 -
I Emailed Elonex to ask if they had received my returned machine and how they planned to repay me.
They agreed by Email that they had received it and the refund would go on my card.
I may have to wait but I can now see my way out of this.
You must be better off returning your unit than selling on Ebay. I only conected to the internet when I used a wire conector between the unit and the router.
It is important for that you get your RMA number from support@elonex.co.uk0 -
I've just received an email from Elonex, telling me they've dispatched a new ONEt out to me today. Will try and see if this works, and if not, will ask for a refund and buy something different. Trouble is, this is my first computer and I've signed up to Plusnet Broadband but can't use it til I get my replacement!!0

ha ha - it sounds like the support centre is in absolute chaos!! I'm not sure I trust this guy who said he'd sent the replacement - he may have said this to shut me up. Will see what happens in a few days ... I can see me having to spend around £200.00 for a decentish micro laptop though ...0
