Disturbance allowance:
This allowance is not paid on your first move or first setting up home after getting married.
There is an exception, however, under Regulations for Army Allowances and Charges. (If service personnel return from overseas to get married in UK. His/her spouse is unable to accompany him/her back to the overseas station immediately, because of non-availability of public SFA, he/she will qualify for disturbance allowance provided that he and/or his spouse have needed to establish an independent home in the UK. (Not a hotel, lodgings, or parent's home etc). Prior to his being joined overseas by his/her spouse.
Looks up to date and I know this always used to be the case.
You can claim for first move when getting wed and you move to a new posting it's only been out about a year and bit0 -
I don't think i am explaining myself properly!! I don't know about any other mid term moves the one i am talking about is the answer to Markers question. If you get married and your hubby is already in a posting you cannot claim DA or for removals. I know that for a fact people cannot claim this. YOU have also said this too so why do you keep saying i am wrong?? saying i am wrong when you have said it yourself? when i know only the other day someone tried claiming this and were told no, only on a new posting. If you say this has been updated can you write down the chapter and section please where you are reading this because the one i am reading is completely different
You keep saying that DA is not payable for mid term moves and is only payable for new postings...this is not correct. It can be paid for mid term moves...DA is only payable for mid-assignment
moves where the move of accommodation is for Service, compassionate, welfare or
medical reasons or where the Service person’s accommodation entitlement changes (except for first move to MQ){Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
Im still not clear.
Your not entitled to DA or removals upon marriage during current posting .... fact!
Your not entitled to DA or remoals on first move? So me and husband married and living together during his current posting, all paid for by our selves, but come his next posting we will still have to pay to move, regardless of where in the country (or beyond) that is .... but last moves are paid?
Anyone who could clear up the above99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500 -

Yes you will be entitled because you got married then moved to a Quarter at your own expense and your next move will NOT be classed as your first move0 -
^^..
What about, move out of single accomodation into rented house, get married to be posted away, then to have the posting cancelled and remain in rented accomodation.
Then, get posted away..
Can you claim for DA and removals?0 -

Confusing situation, but yes you can. The rate of DA will depend upon the type of accomadation you move into...{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
yeah you guys are right, but as i mentioned earlier there is another section further down the JSP stating regulations about mid term moves ect, sorry dont have it now. I was told that my change of accommodation entiltement from marriage was not for service reasons and that is why i did not get it
im confused also?0 -
It is very confusing, especially when each admin section interperates it diffrently. Thanks for clearing that up gt, I got very confused.
