JSP says that you can have it if you:c. Undertake a mid-assignment move for Service reasons, as a result of a change of Service accommodation entitlement, or for compassionate, welfare or medical reasons when authorised by JPAC Pay and Allowances Casework Cell (PACC).
Getting married is a change in SFA entitlement.0 -
I know for a fact since JPA came in you CANNOT claim it during a mid term move
only a new posting!! My mate is a clerk and this is what she sent me it's the one that's has been updated since the jpa.First Moves - fact and fiction
Not every first move is paid for. To be eligible a soldier has to be married for at least one night before the official start of his/her assignment.
If a soldier gets married during his/her posting this is called a mid-tour move and does not qualify.Says what...that you couldn't claim it pre-JPA or says you can't claim it now?0 -
So where does it say about last moves? We tried to get DA for a move from MQ to MQ (technically not our last move as we have just done this into our own place now) and we were told that army would arrange and pay for removals, but we were not entitled to DA. Questioned it as it wasn't our last move and were told not entitled but I have been told about people getting DA for last moves. It is confusing!LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:
Current debt levels: OD £3860, Loan 1 £6091, Loan 2 £5052, Parents £260, Total £16133  As at 01 May 2012 - 51.69% paid off :j

Ok so you cant get it upon marriage during a posting
But what is this first and last move about, that your entitled to?
Is it first posting after marriage or last move when leaving service, you have to chose etween which one you want tomove.
So upon marriage I moved all my stuff up by myself, but even our ext move with the army wont get paid if I chose tohave thelast one paid
Did any one make sense ofwhat I just said lol99.9% of my posts include sarcasm!Touch my bum :money:Tesco - £1000 , Carpet - £20, Barclaycard - £50, HSBC - £50 + Car - £1700SAVED =£0Debts - £28500 -

Wrong I'm afraid. Read the JSP and it can be claimed for a mid-term move on change of accom entitlement (as long as it isn't your first move into MQ's). Whoever told you that is giving out wrong info. If in doubt take it to the Pay and Allowances Casework Cell and they will confirm what I am telling you.
Some mid tour moves qualify. End of.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
(as long as it isn't your first move into MQ's)
Is this not the question Marker was asking? So not entitled??0 -
That's the question i was answering anyway!! I think you have lost track of the thread0

I found this info on the Army Welfare Service site:
Disturbance allowance:
This allowance is not paid on your first move or first setting up home after getting married.
There is an exception, however, under Regulations for Army Allowances and Charges. (If service personnel return from overseas to get married in UK. His/her spouse is unable to accompany him/her back to the overseas station immediately, because of non-availability of public SFA, he/she will qualify for disturbance allowance provided that he and/or his spouse have needed to establish an independent home in the UK. (Not a hotel, lodgings, or parent's home etc). Prior to his being joined overseas by his/her spouse.
Looks up to date and I know this always used to be the case.0 -
Your statement in post#33 is wrong, which is what I've been trying to point out to you.
I don't think i am explaining myself properly!! I don't know about any other mid term moves the one i am talking about is the answer to Markers question. If you get married and your hubby is already in a posting you cannot claim DA or for removals. I know that for a fact people cannot claim this. YOU have also said this too so why do you keep saying i am wrong??(as long as it isn't your first move into MQ's).0
