  • I think of it as a hobby, enter most things, cd's/dvd's is generally a no no with me unless boxed sets same with kids stuff, (i dont have any) unless its something specific for my neice or nephew , so with those out of the equation, i can do more comps in less time, if ya get me

Yes definately patience is a virtue and think of it as a lucky dip :rotfl: enter as many as you can and wait and see.

And no i havnt got house full of posh desginer things through my winnings, I dont know what planet there on, I do know however some people use companies to do the comps for them and sign up to comp magazines, which does give them more of an advantage.

But saying that though, you got to be in it to win it and if its meant to be, its meant to be.
Wins,Hammerfest weekender tickets,Chris Rea Tickets, more Chris Rea Tickets,
  • I have won 1 prize in over a year and it was emmerdale goody bag - so wont be getting far on that !
Obviously i am not very lucky as i enter at least 40- 50 per day and only for things i would like or my friends would like - as yet nothing to even give away !

heres an example of there is no sure way on winning

at the end of the day if lucks on your side you could be a winner
obviously the more you enter the better chances you have.
it does take a lot of time but treat it as a hobby rather than expected wins
i expect to win everything but I don't
a lot of dedication and perceverance comes into it
look at poor old cg who spent about 3000 hours of her life trying to win a camera worth about £150
no win is guaranteed but a lot of spam is

    I wouldn't worry too much.

My friends and family know about my little hobby and everytime I win something they say they'll get into it too. Some don't even get as far as logging on to the computer and those that do have a dabble complain that they were exhausted after just one 40 minute stint. :rotfl:

I think it takes a certain kind of commitment and determination plus maybe a bit of an addictive personality trait and OCD to really get into comping.

If someone thinks they can do this to boost their income or make life easier with treats and treasures then pound for hour they'd be better off getting a part time job two hours a day on minimum wage* - chances are it'd pay more. (*That's roughly the equivalent of winning a camera, a DVD, a CD and a bottle of perfume every other week - Ish ;) ).
  • My top tip would be to remember that comping is a hobby, not a career. You cannot guarantee ANY wins regardless of how many comps you enter! It's possible to enter 10,000 comps and win nothing. It's also possible to enter one comp and scoop a huge prize!

Ultimately, if you don't enjoy spending hours filling in forms then comping aint the hobby for you.
Thanks to everyone who posts comps, I love winning prizes big and small

My advice would be to watch an episode of lets say.........."eastenders/emmerdale".

Now the TV shows listed is like watching paint dry or pulling teeth and sure there are many more..........so just think if you don't like spending hours filling in forms or clicking then just remember the above.........i know what i'd rather do :D

I think you have to enjoy comping and never get your hopes up.

Never get stressed because you've missed a competition or afew days worth due to a night out on the town :D(Also never tell yourself that you will never drink again because you are telling porkies to yourself :D)

Also my top tip would be to set yourself a target on a daily/weekly basis to how many you can enter. Alot of people work or purely do not have the time to spend entering competitions. ;)
