  • Just a quick note the lottery is based on diversity and UK people are not eligible.
For the UK people they need to go through the visa process (purely on desirability in the US, skills/ employability/ cash in the bank etc.). Once you have a work visa you can then begin the green card application process.

Oops! I didn't see that bit on my own link! :o

I gained all my knowledge of the Green Card lottery from the Republic of Ireland where I grew up!
If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.
  • hubby wont get wages he is on now in the uk ..

If you can't support yourselves, you won't get in to the US. The US Welfare System won't help you.
were will and want to move to florida . we wont have much left £

    It ain't gonna happen
    where do i start .

Plan B would be the best place.

Sorry to be harsh, but you have absolutely no chance of moving to the US. All countries have immigration controls and they pick those people they want - usually, those with skills and a job which means they can support themselves and pay taxes. To be brutal, countries only want immigrants who are going to pay tax - not those who need to claim on the welfare system.

Forget the US. Hubby needs to look at his options to increase his income and support his family.

Pinkgirl2009 - the only way you'll be able to move to USA is if you're both american born, and you have lots of £££!

So from your post, I think the answer is "no, you'll never be able to move to the USA".

Perhaps you should concentrate on getting your husband another job.

    Why can't you work?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

You are correct DFC that all countries have immigration control, except the good old UK, just strap yourself to a truck axle, endure a bumpy ride in the channel tunnel, jump off at the other end and tell them you are going to be murdered in your country of origin. And then as if by magic, 3 bed council house and whole list of benefits come your way..

I think you need to do a lot more research on this - don't mean to be rude but you're incredibly naive about it all.

I agree, OH and I would love to move to the states but it seems utterly impossible, unless you are offered a job there by a company- and as another poster saids It can be turned down by the visa gang out there.

Im really unsure as to what you are driving at:

I dont understand why you cant work- plenty of people do work and have kids you know ( my parents worked thought my childhood- mum part time at times, but still she worked)

If OH cant work then surely he can watch the kids after school, so you can work?

Your post really smacks of someone in a panic, so take a deep breath, take stock, reduce all your outgoings and get OH jobhunting ASAP!

there IS still work out there, job boards are full to bustring ( eg monster, job centre plus with pages and pages of work?

    What savings do you have?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Can I also ask what you OH's occupation is?
