i realy cant believe you would have the gaul to expect benefits to paid to you whilst you go and live on the cheap in the USA.
I realy do hope some one has the answer to that question, and it is a big fat NO!!!0 -
Why does your husband not work something out with your father to purchase the business?
Will your husband not be able to get another job in this country?
What line of business is it?
Why will you loose your house?
With the financial state of the USA (IF you believe the news today) it may not be the best place to pack up and go to, I think you are having a knee jerk reaction you the news your father wishes to sell up.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

I'll assume this thread is on the level...
Just to give an example:
I'm a skilled worker (well that's what they class me as!), single, with a degree (not sure if that makes any difference) and a firm job offer from the US office of my employer (as US company as it happens). My application for a work visa was denied on the grounds they could train an American to do my job (while this is true it would take a couple of years!).
So simply wanting to move to the US is not enough. I also strongly hope you were joking when asking if you would continue to get benefits paid by a country you are not contributing (in any way) to....saving, saving, saving!0 -
I couldn't really understand your post, but I wondered why you think you can live in the US. Are you or your spouse an American citizen? If not, I don't think you'll be living in Florida. The only other possible way would be if your spouse had a high-demand job skill that an American employer would be willing to sponsor a green card to get him. Surely if your husband had that going for him, he wouldn't be in such a pickle to lose his job here.
If you or your husband is a US citizen, you will still need quite a lot of money to move. Let me put it this way: I'm a US citizen and I couldn't take my husband back over there with me unless I found a rich person willing to sign a paper saying they'd be willing to support us if we were destitute. The US government has a horror of people who might be a burden on society, and the bar to prove otherwise is set rather high.
There is practically no safety net in America. People can and do lose their homes when a child gets ill. Children die because their parents can't afford medical care. People end up on the streets with no place to live because they don't have much in the way of council housing, and what there is you wouldn't like to live in if you could even get on the list.
Bankruptcy is also much easier in the UK than in the US. This is a much better place for parents to lose their job and home.:beer:0 -
I'm sorry but there is a huge sort of 'vetting' process for entry to live in the country.... you can't expect to move to America and expect them to pay for you to live there free! Its not England!A blonde... cleverly disguised as a Brunette.......;)0

You can't just apply for a green card and get one! It's done on a lottery system – some people get them, others don't*. Without a green card you will have no legal status in America and therefore no access to healthcare, social security or even employment. And if you WERE to get in there illegally, you would undoubtedly be denied re-entry at a later date. However, if you don't meet the requirements, (health, education etc) your application will be disregarded before it even gets to the lottery stage.

You will be required to undergo a medical as part of the Green Card application (at extra cost), and you would more than likely be disqualified on that basis. No country will admit people who are intending to claim benefits the minute they get there. As for getting UK benefits whilst in America, come on! Even you can't think that's an option!
Seriously, you need to do some research on moving to the States!
*EDIT: the Green Card lottery does not apply to UK born citizens (among others) – thanks to VFR-Rider for correcting me!If I don't respond to your posts, it's probably because you're on my 'Ignore' list.0
