We hadn't got a date for that! We just had 18th on the reservation form for exchange.
I assume all the searches and mortgage has to be in place for exchange? Nothing can be done between exchange and completion!?
..... He isn't worried though....... he is on a golf break .......:pA blonde... cleverly disguised as a Brunette.......;)0 -

I'd written the envelope, put the stamp on - all he had to do was fill in his NI number and post it! - Box is about 10 steps from his front door! :rotfl:A blonde... cleverly disguised as a Brunette.......;)0 -

Lick stamps? How very 1990s!! I must inform you that they are now stickers, so require no licking...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
We've had the mortgage offer (Well so my fella says!) ... They just wanted proof of income.
Are you sure its not the agreement in principle he has, rather than the mortgage offer? I'd be surprised if he hasn't had the bulders chasing him for updates, surveys etc as its getting so close to the proposed exchange date.0 -
Hello!
I'm done a quick search but can't find anything about this..... Basically my fella is buying a new build (no comments please!). As I couldn't sell my place he is doing it on his own. I've pretty much done all the leg work for him e.g. sorting mortgage etc.... and we have an exchange date that the developer wanted of the 18th (This week!!)
I've been happily packing up my things ready for the big move but........ On Saturday I was tidying up some papers from his table when I found the letter from the solicitors asking for all his details - i'd filled it in 2 weeks ago and he'd 'forgot' to post it!!! Then I found a letter from the mortgage advisor asking for 3 pay slips from the 21st August.... and he hadn't done it!!! I'm fuming! I've done it all myself and posted it yesterday!.... Obviously the exchange date of 18th is not achievable now!!!
Anyone any idea how long it will take now???
- I have to move my week off work now and i'm well annoyed...plus i've arranged for a tenant to move into my place on 26th September!!!
Men!!!
I realize you're asking for practical real estate advice, but I'm going to give you some relationship advice:
Are you this man's mother? If not, why are you doing all of this for him? He is either very irresponsible or he doesn't really want this house. Either way, I don't see how picking up the slack for him will ever make you anything but exhausted and miserable. You say that he's doing this all on his own? It's his house? His mortgage?
If the house sale falls through, that's his problem. Why are you getting sucked into this?
If you want to spend your life with him, I really think you need to get out of the habit of taking care of him like this. The more you do, the less he will do. I can promise that you will end up frustrated and resentful if you don't nip this in the bud.:beer:0 -

That's where he gets confused. His tongue is now covered in stuck stamps, and when ones he did get off wouldn't stick to the letter, he got the superglue out.....
It's very very messy0 -

I'm not sure now! I thought he had posted it all two weeks ago!
I recall a conversation he had with the mortgage advisor saying he had been accepted for the mortgage but I just assumed it was because he had sent all the stuff through!
I asked if the builder had called him asking where we were up to and he said no - I'm really surprised at that myself.
I think he has that much legal stuff knocking about - not just house move he has got a bit bogged down and not sure he knows where he is upto!A blonde... cleverly disguised as a Brunette.......;)0
