I want to wash some large thinnish cotton curtains that fit our patio doors. I don't want to unruffle the heading tape. Any ideas to stop the long cords tangling the rest of the curtains would be welcome as I don't want to leave the cords wrapped around the cord tidy in the washing machine. I want to do them on a cool wash then spin on a slow speed so when I put them out to dry they will still be quite wet and hopefully dry without creases0

That's excellent stuff Pink! I think that's where i was going wrong. I had read the guide and stuff which is stickied so I do understand the indexed collections etc. But i probably onl.y absorbed that and nothing else! Last night i was hoking around and found a heap of threads indexed i haven't read, so there's hours worth of reading there again!
just reading this guide now from Squeaky, invaluable. I think i will be able to find a lot more stuff quicker now (rather than taking the long route , don't ask!)
Turns out i have this box which explains how to make pastry, and you're right! What a faff indeed. Great great great help. Thanks so muchA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

The whole point of keeping the string from the header tape is so that it's still there when you want to unruffle them. If you have no itention of unruffling the curtains, tie a big knot and cut off the excess

I would always unruffle to let the water into the mucky bits that have been all ruffled up, IYSWIM. Not too difficult to re-ruffle afterwards, I find.Signature removed for peace of mind0

I'd probably take it off the bone and cut it up into bite-sized chunks, because I'd be throwing it into a stir fry or something like that rather than attempting to slice it politely.
Also worth de-boning and splitting into smaller packs if you won't want it all at once.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
How much of it will you want when you get it out of the freezer, and what will you be doing with it?

No polite slicing here, that uses too much up. It would be used for stuff as part of curry or pizza etc. Ive never bought cookd chicken and froze it before so thats why a little confused!A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

If you've got clingfilm or foil, I would wrap 'portions' in that and then stuff it in the tupperware. That way you can keep the air off it in the freezer, and get out the amount you want as you want it.
Hope that's not too late ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I hope I can add this question here, I didn't want to start a new thread for it.
I have a pack of 6 pork strips for dinner. I'm looking for something a bit more interesting to do than just roast them.
I also have potatoes, onion, garlic, the normal stuff in the cupboards like stock, gravy, olive and vegetable oil, salt, pepper, worcester sauce, rice (I don't have any flour, herbs in etc though) ...
If anyone has any ideas I would be extremely grateful.
