I have some cans of tuna dated 2005, do you think that would be pushing it? I haven't really had much to do with fish, but is it still likely I'd recognise it being off? the wonders of the back of my store cupboard.
HOWEVER, you do want to check the tin is 'sound', ie not 'blown'. Squeeze the ends: if it doesn't squidge in (like a jamjar does once it's been opened) then it should be fine.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Its 2 x 2kg bags Abbey. Asda do a smart price 2kg bag for £1.18, not sure about the other supermarkets0

You buy 2 bags of 2kg onions (so 4kilo in total) and that week you will use 2920g of them. So at the end of the week you will have just over 1kilo left to rollover to the next week. That is how I understand it.0

Ok that makes sense. Now just have to work out how this will work for one person! Obviously theres a lot I can freeze and store but still...£100 for 4 people is less than my budget for 1. So I want to see if I can work this out and eat realllllly cheaply and healthy. I hate spending money on food, I'd rather not eat!Money money money.

I budgeted £130 for food per month. I intend to follow the recipes BUT supliment with lots of other fruit and veg as I'll need the energy for running around with the new baby. Otherwise I don't think I'd get the intake I needMoney money money.

Actually, weezl's plan provides enough calories for an adult male, so supplementation is not actually necessary. Obviously you may wish to do so for your personal taste preferences, but just thought I'd let you know that calorically (and fats-wise), you're just fine as the plan is.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Just thought I would add that it actually does contain your 5-a-day fruit and veg as well:D0
