Hi OS'ers - a quick plea for help - how long do you need to leave your freezer to defrost before knocking it back on please? It's been off almost 24 hours and there's no visible ice in it.
Thanks in advance!*** PROPHECY_GRRL****** DEBT FREE AS OF 17/10/11 - I DID IT!!! ***0 -
Hi prophecy_girl
You can put your freezer back on as soon as all the ice is defrosted, first wipe out the interior throughly to remove any water, or it will just turn back to ice and put all the shelve/baskets back in, shut the door and put it on and allow to come back to temperature before re-filling it with food."doing the best you enjoy, not the best you can tolerate, is truly the best you can do sustainably."0 -
Thanks - I've just checked and there's no ice, I've mopped the water that had gathered (it was only a bit that I hadn't caught in the bowl). I'll knocw it back on now - how do I know when it's cold enough to re fill?*** PROPHECY_GRRL****** DEBT FREE AS OF 17/10/11 - I DID IT!!! ***0

The display on my freezer flashes until the tempaeature is back to freezing, some freezers have an audible alarm or the display changes colour."doing the best you enjoy, not the best you can tolerate, is truly the best you can do sustainably."0

I hope this is the right place to post this!
I want to make chicken stock with my leftover chicken carcass. I have onions and carrots but no celery! Can I make it without the celery? Also if anyone has any tips on adding anything else etc... I would be grateful as I've never made stock before.0 -
