make soda farls these go lovely with frys or filled with fry type stuff (my hubby likes them fried with sausage and bacon inside) but there also nice toasted with butter and jam or scambled egg ect, just swap the flour for your flour

In what way "a funny colour",I suspect they are fine. Not alot can happen to much when its frozen at -18
Either way, if they were fine when you froze them, then the answer is Yes.0 -
They were pale in colour, and dry looking - but I made the soup anyway and fed it to the husband first. Just in case :rotfl:0

Yep, pasta freezes just fine. If you are freezing pasta with a sauce (such as spaghetti or something), you will want to add a little bit more liquid when you thaw it out (the pasta will absorb some of it and make it a bit dry). But yes, it tastes perfectly good when you reheat it! I always have to do this when my son goes to visit his father during the summer and it's just me at home.
I've read several posts about how I can use vinegar to descale a kettle, but what I'd like to know, is, is it safe to use vinegar in a brushed metal kettle?
I live in an area with terrible hard water. I've had my new kettle for 8 days. I checked inside it after 5 days and it's already scaled up on the bottom and the sides.
I've got one of those little metal thingies inside the kettle that's supposed to catch all the limescale, and it has caught some of it, but alas, it's not man enough for the water in my area.
I want to keep on top of the problem as best I can, as we get through kettles at an alarming rate, and simply can't afford to keep replacing them.Aug11 £193.29/£240

However, I'd suggest buying a jug water filter, and filter your water before boiling. Boots do one with different sorts of filters, either for hard or soft water (not sure why you'd need a filter for soft water but as that's not your problem I'll leave that as a philosophical question!).
It won't eliminate the problem, but I think it will help. We filter all our kettle water, and I can taste when the filter needs changing. On that basis I'm not sure I'd bother paying extra for one with a fancy indicator - ours stopped working!Signature removed for peace of mind0
