I made an indian lamb curry and cooked the coconut milk for over and hour and it was fine - looked lik e it had split after about 15 mins but by the end was delciously unctuous and creamy

Yoghurt, if you have any. It took me a few goes to get it right but we love it now.
  • I don't have any in at the moment, but I do have some left over double cream - do you think a splash of that would work as well?
    Thanks for your reply :)

That's what I'd do - anything vaguely creamy! Try adding a bit and taste, see if it's going in the right direction;)

Also, if you haven't added any (and have it) a pinch of paprika might counter it? Do the cream first though.
  • Again, thanks :)
I added cayenne - maybe I'll add some paprika too.

  • cat has peed on leather sofa, what should i clean it with? really worried by sofas going to be ruined, as cat pee can leave stains and it's right across one seat of the 2 seater. not real leather sofa, and not possible to remove cushions.

    Hi all

I'm a bit hopeless without a recipe to follow, so I'm wondering if someone could help please.

I've got 2 Braeburn eating apples which are now riper than I like them to be and was wondering if I could mix with them with some frozen summer fruits (including red and blackcurrants) to make some kind of crumble.

    a) How much weight of summer fruits would I need to add to the apples to make a crumble for two people
    b) Do I need to defrost the berries first
    c) Do I need to cook the eating apples first
    d) Would I need to add any liquid & sugar
    e) What temp and how long should I cook it for

I should know these things, but I don't :o so any answers gratefully received

I'd peel and chop the apple (into a bowl with water & a bit of lemon), then use about the same of berries. No need to defrost although you could, might be a bit watery from frozen.
Drain the apple, put in dish with berries, add about a tablespoon of sugar, more if you like it sweet (taste a bit of apple).
Then add the crumble, bake at about 170-180c for about 30-40 mins.

Fab! Thanks very much for that Diflower :)

The apples are sweet, which is why I asked about sugar as I've only ever cooked with cooking apples before but I'm thinking the red and blackcurrants might be a bit sharp, but 1 Tbs sounds good to me.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply hun :) will give it a bash tomorrow.

Silly question - I'm making macaroni cheese but only have self-raising flour instead of plain - can I use it or will it go wrong? :o

    Thanks, C xx
