Hi Kirsty, the link worked great thank you :) but that's not it. It was more like a web page than a forum post. Thank you for taking the time to look it up though :)

I would.... Or you could make veggie stock and freeze it then keep the chicken stock cubes for when you need chicken stock?

Ok, ta. I have loads of lettuce and kale ready now and we wont eat it all. I use anything green in soup so I thought I could just fry it all in butter now and make it up then freeze.. ??

Quick, probably daft question. Can you use those foil trays like the ones you get from Chinese in the oven?

    Thanks :)

Yes, and the beauty of them is that if they are too horrid afterwards you don't have to wash them up, although of course you'll probably want to so you can at least recycle them.

You might want to put them on a baking tray because they can be a bit bendy otherwise, but I'd do that with any foil tray anyway.

I did post this on the Daily but no-one has replied so I'll ask here too..

I made bread in my BM this morning for first time in few months, but it did not rise :( The yeast packet had been open since before Xmas but was taped shut and in tupperware box.

Do you guys think it was the yeast that was off? Don't want to waste money on new one if I don't have to!

The 'bread' looks and smells like bread but is only 1 inch tall :rotfl:

    TIA

    HI Flutterby,

Sorry,I did see your post on the daily, then DS came in and I forgot to post.I would think the yeast is at fault for your poorly risen loaf.I use the orange packs, and put it in 2 little jars when I open it,& put one in the fridge, and one to use immediately in my flour cupboard.I use my bm everyday,so it gets used up well before 6 months, but I think thats probably too long -it does lose its efficiency.I'd buy a new pack and try again.HTH x

Thanks RR!! No need to apologise!
